I have heard the opposite from friends and relatives in New Orleans. They have said there has been plenty of radio and TV promotion.

It will be bad if we dont break their attendance record, this is a one time shot to show what we can do, and if southern miss proves to be the bigger draw, they will be taken over us in the future when they have 7 win years (compared to our 8/9 win years...) on the other hand if we consistently win 8/9 games that should be good enough for sun belt title most years anyway, so its moot point.

18K advance sales, and USM v Troy only put 30K in there?
Let's see what happens.

I believe, someone did the math and came up with at least 8334 tickets if they were all $60 each. So I'd say somewhere from 8,333-10,000 should have gotten us to the $500K mark. Everything beyond that is profit that we liekly split 50/50 with the bowl as well.

I'm glad to give my money to the program, but if this is the way it will done in the future, I will buy from UL, then buy more tickets where I want to sit, and try to sell my first ones.
I picked up my tickets today, and originally ordered them with another group. We needed to add on to the order, and specifically asked that they be as close as possible to the first set. I was told that they would do everything they could to accomodate us, but when I picked up today, I learned that some tickets are in one endzone in the 2nd level, and the others on the 5th row of the first level...and of course, in the OTHER ENDZONE!! These tickets could not possibly be any further apart, and still be in the allotted "UL" sections.
Obviously, Im not very happy with the way this has turned out. I completely understand that there will be hiccups since this is the first time we've done this, but this is the least "fan friendly" thing I've ever seen.
Hopefully the game will be much smoother for the Cajuns than the ticket sales have been for the fans.

I haven't seen but one TV promotion. Perhaps they have just hit it right or they regularly watch a different station for their news. I almost always watch WWL.

That's 18K in advance from the UL TICKET OFFICE, if I understand correctly. I don't think that includes any sales from the other outlets including the Superdome, Ticketmaster, and SDSU. Certainly our sales will be the bulk of total sales, but I am looking forward to seeing how many butts are in the seats come gametime. I am hoping for somewhere in the mid- to high- 30's. Or more!
