He yadda, yadda about SMU being across the metroplex from SMU but that would make 5 Texas schools. Its the longest of long shots, but UL definitely should be letting the Big 12 know of its interest. The mega conference adds a new State. Sure we'd have to wait for years to rake in larger piece of the TV dollars but you do what you have to do to get foot in the door. The east pod of 6 team scenario was Cinn, Iowa St, W. Va, UCF, Kansas, Kansas St., central pod scenario listed was Baylor, Houston, OK St., TCU, Texas Tech, then insert your favorite team here. Granted USF and SMU would be formidable competition to get past for membership. Throw your name in the hat anyway.
Nah, instead of aiming high, some would rather slum it and invite Tech. Mind boggling. Finally have "seperation" and some want to get right back in bed with them. What's that verse about a dog returning to its vomit?

So you want 0-8 since Jake to be a story told over and over?

Thank you. I’m tired of the years on the losing end and the only way to fix that is to play. I want to play and play often to experience and continue to experience the sweetness of revenge.

If they're screaming 8-0 in a dead conference and dying program....is there anyone there to hear them? It's like the old saying, if a tree falls in the forest.....

Besides, we don't have to be in the same damn conference to play them. How many times does it need to be said?

We may have to be in the same conference for them to play us.

There cetainly are those attempting to create the illusion of fan support for this game.
Perhaps they are attempting to maneuver the big picture.
Re: Conference realignment again????
It takes two to tango, so if we want to play LaTech and they feel the same to play us in football, there's no reason for both parties not to sign a 10 year contract to keep playing regardless of conference affiliation. But in today's college football and seems like the future is scheduling out of conference games that will attractive to networks and television viewers. Not many around the country will care so much about two Louisiana based teams playing. Its not the Iron Bowl. The best bet for us gaining the most TV viewers is a Friday night TV game, maybe its a road game at a Big 12 or ACC team. Not a thrilling concept but you get paid and you get more TV viewers growing the brand. Then the 10 year contract Tech game is for Saturday nights, get the crowds.

The Big 12 said expansion candidates are evaluated based on Brand and Geography, not media markets. UL has the geography and a pretty good national brand. Our OOC scheduling focus should be against P5 schools that will enhance our brand nationally, like our win over Iowa State.

This. LTUR adds zero. Not interested in them for a conference mate. Some seem to forget how much most of their conference mates are happy to be parted with them.

Someone needs to link Jay’s post on the belt board regarding why ElAye Tech is pretty much universally disliked by the SBC.
Some sins of the past need to be remembered. In fact, 10 year anniversary of one is approaching. Arf!
