Hey Turbine it was great meeting you today. Come to think of it you do resemble Jon.:D I thought the gathering and feed for the Victory Flag members and invited guests was great. Hopefully we are supporting a new tradition at LOUISIANA. Did you see the Flag members practicing after the gathering? Talk about dedication! Again nice meeting you and putting a face to a name.
It was my pleasure cajuncharlie!
They sure put a lot of work into making it all happen. I find it to be a neet twist that V.R. started on the 100th aniversary of Louisiana's first football season and 1st victory.
ps There are some photo albums below. But due to the tremendous glare in some of the shots I won't be posting those. I also wish I had taken pictures of the actual 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 victory flags. Also I didn't get all the fans and attendees and missed taking pictures of the cheerleaders.
There is more missed than taken, I hope you like the pictures that I was able to get.

Thank you for your coverage of this event. This event will surely enhace the Victory Run as an authentic UL Tradition. Coverage such as this will also help the endeavor come to light hopefully garnering needed Support. It was wonderful to watch our UL students ( UL Marching Band, Cheerleaders and Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship) so enthusiastically embracing the VR.
THANKS AGAIN
Kawlija
Wish I could have gone, great work Turbine.Quote:

The problem is, the odds have been good that the Ragin’ Cajuns will emerge from such a contest with an 0-1 record.
There also might be more questions than answers once the dust settles.
And the Cajuns could be banged up for their trouble.
Coach Rickey Bustle’s second year at the school kicks off this Saturday at South Carolina, a game that sends him back to his home state and tests the Cajuns’ 0-and-forever record against SEC opposition.
The last time the Cajuns won an opener away from home was 1990, when they thrashed Tulane 48-6 in the Louisiana Superdome in the first game after the departure of do-everything quarterback Brian Mitchell.
That’s a long time to be satisfied with pocketing a hefty guarantee.
Since then, UL has fallen 38-3 at Tennessee in 1992, 34-6 at Kansas State in 1994, 38-14 at Nevada in 1995, 55-21 at Florida in 1996, 45-13 at Pittsburgh in 1997, 38-17 at Arkansas in 1998, 24-7 at Oklahoma State in 1999 and 31-7 at Texas A&M last year in Bustle’s first game as a head coach.
For those scoring at home, that’s 303 to 88 in eight contests.
Last year’s defeat at A&M was a bit deceptive, though. In that game, the Cajuns served up 10 turnovers to the grateful Aggies — six Jon Van Cleave interceptions and four lost fumbles — either setting up A&M at point-blank range or ruining drives of their own.
The only solace was Eric Rekieta’s 31-yard touchdown pass to Fred Stamps with 5:36 to play in the game.
The lesson there — if you beat yourself, the other team doesn’t have to do much to walk off with an easy win. If you don’t beat yourself, at least the other guys have to work for it.
That’s why Bustle routinely rides his Cajuns about keeping a hand behind the line for the gassers that end practices. If they can stay focused on a detail like that when exhausted, they have a better chance of functioning in the fourth quarter.
When the Cajuns played at Arkansas last Nov. 16, they played hard enough to shake the confident Razorbacks, blocking a punt to get within 24-17 late in the game and then positioning themselves for a tying score before an interception ended the upset bid.
It’s a long way from self-destruction to a near upset of an SEC West champion, but the Cajuns closed that competitive gap in 2002.
Now Bustle’s team, which had Sunday off, is putting the finishing touches on preseason and looking at a South Carolina squad that was 5-2 at one point last year before slumping to a 5-7 record.
If they focus on the Gamecocks and not history, the Cajuns have a chance.

Football players and coaches stay away from this story.
after i read the story in the advertiser it's the same negative stuff again.......cajuns get banged up,pushed around, beaten up,collecting a check! why not focus on something that is positive, have they not seen the hard work these coaches and players are putting in, stop looking back, i guest you look at us as being weaklings......still, always here they go again. maybe we win the game, maybe not, the point is we are moving forward, however the outcome we will be the better for having played the game. "GEAUX CAJUNS."
Thanks...
You will have a good time in Columbia. Stop by any tailgate, you will be welcomed. If you are in the fair grounds, stop by 6201 and enjoy an adult beverage of your choice.
I was just about to click on Bruce's email address and let him have it based on everyone's comments, and then decided I better read the article first. I didn't find it to be all that terrible. He does give credit for the progress that has been made. I also don't think the players would be too bothered by it. They know they have made progress. I think they also know that SC is a beatable foe if they can put together a special performance. Perhaps we have to break our own habit of focusing on the negative when reading his article.
SwampFox,
I don't know if you realize it, but the original "Swamp Fox" (aka Francis Marion) was a Revolutionary War Hero from South Carolina. The movie "The Patriot" was based partly on his life. The movie combined aspects of Marion's life with that of Thomas Sumter (the orignal "Gamecock") and a few other Revolutionary War Heroes from South Carolina. Also, as a tribute to Francis Marion the South Carolina Air National Guard designated its mascot as the Swamp Fox. As a member of SCANG, I am proud to claim membership to an organization that bears this name. I just thought this connection was interesting and thought you may find it interested also.
I would like to extend every Ragin Cajun (love the mascot btw) the invitation to Columbia, SC for the kick off to what will hopefully be a very successfull football season for both teams.
PS We still owe you for the Super Regional ;)
Man, yall need to start being a little more mean, its hard for me to want my team to whoop up on you if I like you to much. Thnx for being so gracious, and we'll try to make yall remember the way you felt in the Super-regional :-P
Tuffguy
Well, not quite Tuffy. That stat. about 61 yards per game was Rushing yardage only. We actually averaged 289 yards per game total offense. Add a decent running game to those stats and the offense would be passable.Quote:

:D I guess it is time for you to know the truth Tuffguy. Not all BCS fans are as bad as LSU A & M Baton Rouge fans. I hope it did not come as too much of a letdown to you.Quote:

Heh I know that, I mean, Nebraska had some great fans last year too when we played them in baseball. Ive never seen such gracious losers, besides my parents both graduated from a BCS college, and my uncle graduated from Oklahoma, so I know not all are bad, but the USC fans Ive found have been the nicest people, and Its hard, cuzz now if we win, I'll still feel bad cuzz I wouldent want to wish bad upon them.Quote:

Says telecast is only available in the state of South Carolina :/\:
That would be coolbut according to the article;
"Southeastern Conference rules prevent the game from being made available to fans outside the state of South Carolina, except for official alumni groups which have been approved by the University. There are no other exceptions to this rule."
