I recall that FSU, last years champs backed out.
Also playing better teams on equal footing ie TAMU and failing is rewarded. Failing to play on an uneven field and winning a lot frowned on. Got it.

I can never understand why being bad to mediocre in power conferences is initially rewarded only to be quickly bounced in the real world.
It was the perfect storm of RPI killers for the Cajuns...canceled games, weak conference, some usually strong opponents had down years, and even with all that we still just barely missed hosting.
I think we were treated fairly, we got a decent draw and we will be hosting plenty as the Glasco era progresses
We can’t do much better than 50/4.
The RPI factors in everything already presented here.
How well did you do? Who were your opponents? How well did you do against them? Who were your opponents opponents? How well did they do?
When everything was factored in, Louisiana tops Mississippi.
The NCAA says we don't just look at the RPI.
What do they look at? A piece of the RPI. Something that was already in the RPI.
They are double dipping, giving double value to something the RPI already factored in.
I like UL's chances, JMU aside, I don't like getting robbed of hosting.
I'm with you Turbine.
People have been saying time and time again that in softball RPI is the most controlling factor. We have been watching our RPI slowly go down knowing with our schedule we would probably not get down to 16 with constant analysis that no 16 or lower, no host.
Ok, that is fine, then we are made to travel to a team with a higher RPI than ours.
Go figure. They should just say it - we G5 and they giving the hosts to P5.
We weren't robbed of hosting. Even if go with your theory of strictly looking at RPI, we wouldn't have hosted.
The ranking of teams is NOT factored in the rpi. You can have two teams on your schedule with identical 43-13 records. One can be #13 in the rpi, one can be #33. Both have the same impact on your rpi (assuming you won both games), but you should get rewarded for beating #13 in the rpi than #33 when you comparing like teams.
You know how hard it is to win 50 of 54 baseball/softball games? It doesnt matter who your opponent is ...
