The “not run away” part is a complete failure if the ball is not caught, every time.
Re: Live Game Talk Louisiana at Georgia Southern
I just rewatched the game. These guys get better as the game goes on. We still had great energy in the second half and wore the Eagles down big time. Much like we did for Liberty and Ohio. I remember when the HUD teams were struggling, a lot of comments would be made about lack of halftime adjustments. This Napier squad certainly doesn’t have that issue.

Seems like the catching part is an integral component of what he was coached to do....(there I go again)
Again, I’m glad he got it straight in the second half. We need him.
Not really. Of course he's coached to catch it but players don't always execute.

I saw a lot of new players in the game too; they keep getting the younger players some reps, keeping the 1's fresh and getting them some game experience that will pay off down the road.
That shows we are getting the depth we need on our roster to play big boy ball.

Yes, the adjustments, and especially the athleticism, in the 2nd half are to me two of the biggest improvements over last/past years. Makes all the difference and shows how successful Napier & co are.

Team speed has vastly improved.
Re: Live Game Talk Louisiana at Georgia Southern
Speaking of enjoying the moment: When do the freak outs about losing Napier start?
Re: Live Game Talk Louisiana at Georgia Southern
Post-game thoughts
Georgia Southern had 9 possessions, 5 of their possessions were 5 plays or less.
1. 15 plays – 64 yards - FG
2. 5 plays – 9 yards – punt
3. 5 plays – 16 yards – FG after a muffed punt
4. 3 plays – 9 yards - punt
5. 2 plays – 7 yards – TD after a muffed punt
6. 3 plays – (-16) yards – punt
7. 14 plays – 78 yards – TD
8. 14 plays – 74 yards – TD
9. 10 plays – 21 yards – turnover on downs
Going into the 4th quarter, Georgia Southern only had 167 yards total offense.
It is earlier but here are some stats that stand out from the Georgia Southern game.
6 tackles for a loss is the highest of the season
3 sacks are tied for the highest of the season
4 quarterback hurries are 2nd highest this season
Ragas, Mitchell, and Calais combined for 248 yards on the ground and 5 yards through the air. They combined for 253 total yards, 1 more yard than the Georgia Southern combined.
More season stats.
The Cajuns are 27 for 32 in the RedZone, with 1 of 32 being at the end of the 1st half vs Texas Southern when we did not try to score. The Cajuns have 25 touchdowns in their 27 scoring drives in the RedZone.
Stevie Artigue is 28 for 28 in extra-point tries.
Red-shirt Sophomore Andre Jones leads the team in tackles for a loss. This young man is going to be a beast.
Jacques Boudreaux leads the team in solo tackles (17) and assists (16). He was just named SBC Player of the Week with 6 solo tackles and 6 assists.
Re: Live Game Talk Louisiana at Georgia Southern
Andre Jones looks to be a revelation at DE. Also, Hutchinson and Wilkerson look like they can be difference makers down the line. My biggest surprise is Vallot at center. Prudhomme was a damn good center and there has been no discernible drop off in play.
