I picked my words carefully!:D The fans may be looking forward but I can guarantee that if any player looks past ULL, Ol' Lou will have him on the bench. The players and coaches don't take anyone for granted.Quote:

Look forward to seeing your fans at the game!
Love that signature
I do too! Although I must admit I stole it from someone on another board somewhere. I saw it several years ago and it just stuck with me. It reminds me of my childhood!:DQuote:

Hello ULL fans. Can't wait for football. Here is another site that is a lot like this one.
southcarolina.theinsiders.com
There has been a countdown thread that has been going on for several months now leading up to August 30th. Believe me, South Carolina fans are ready for some football. Hope a lot of you guys make it out to Columbia for the game.:)
Another Gamecock board (similar to this one).

By the way, I really like the way this board is set up. Very easy to use. Kudos to the developers.:)
A follow up question, I know of the Austin kid that committed but who is the other commit?
Rest assured that we know who you are, how good you are and what a great coach and team you have. The only reason we're not talking about it that much at Gamecock Central right now is that there is so much going on with scrimmages, injuries, position changes et al. The Gamecocks seldom "walk over" any team and we know the Cajuns will be no exception. It'll be a scrap. Any of you coming up will find good ol' Southern Hospitality and a helluva party atmosphere. If you're driving, do it carefully. Come join us at Gamecock
Central any time. It's a well moderated board and we'll be happy to talk some football with you.
Part of me wants to say we will kick the ever loving cr@p out of you, but then the more mature side takes over and here is what I think on the game with USC.
I predict the final score to be:
ULL 34
USC 14
Geaux Cajuns!!
I predict the final score 13-7 Gamecocks
Jerry called last night and I was able to talk to him a little bit about USC. I asked him if he was going to be ready to play and his exact words were "Sure As Hell Hope So". I asked him how the Big O was looking he said they will be fine once everyone is back from there injuries and healthy again. He told me that he has been doing well and is excited about the start of the new school year. I was able to talk to a few other guys after Jerry and they all seemed to be in high spirits about the upcoming season. It seems like the team is growing closer then last year. I think this is a good thing.
Go Cajuns
I hear ya, but theres one thing no ones expecting, our offense cant get much worse than last season. We averaged 61 yards per game, 61!!! The way I look at is, the only way to go from there is up. Our QB last year (Jon Van Cleave), put the ball in traffic alot and threw alot of interceptions, and on top of him having a strong arm, he didnt have much else as he couldent run well and he wasnt good on making short reads, including he was clumsy with the ball at times and fumbled. On top of that, we have a bigger offensive line this year and a stronger who worked out this summer and broke many personal records, and a few school records. Our defense right now is the strong point, but our offense cant be any worse than it was last year, and we scored 17 against arkansas, and could have had 24.Quote:

Poor Granny Holtz!
"Everyone has been incredible. Coach Bustle and the staff were on the way to hospital in the middle of the night when they learned about my son. All the coaches have called more than once a day. All the folks at UL have been 5 star.”
That is saying a lot. Get well SOON Michael, soon enough to go on some road trips.
I sure as hell hope so :DQuote:

The entire UL family wishes you a speedy recovery!

"Oh, believe me....we are ready for football. To be quite honest, we feel pretty comfortable about our game with you guys. Your offense is way down and ours is about to let loose. Most USC fans are concentrating on our second and third games with UVA and UGA. These games will determine what kind of season we will have."
A loss to a team that you overlooked will also determine what kind of season you will have. I doubt Lou shares you sentiment, but I hope the players do.

LOUISIANA La. — Surely the first day of classes couldn’t have been that traumatic.
Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns returned to practice on Tuesday after taking a day off to get settled into classes for the fall semester, and turned in a flat effort.
“This was the first day where I don’t think we got anything done,” coach Rickey Bustle said. “They gave in to a little heat today. There were some good parts in the middle, but it wasn’t a good day.”
The Cajuns have 10 days to go before visiting SEC member South Carolina for their season opener, and Tuesday did not inspire confidence.
“We’ll latch on to them tomorrow and see if we can pick it back up,” Bustle said.

Today’s 2:30 p.m. scrimmage at Cajun Field is the next chance to re-focus. There also will be a situational drill Saturday morning, one week before the opener.
One positive aspect on Tuesday was having fewer offensive linemen wearing green jerseys. That unit has been hard-pressed to find any continuity with players being nagged by injuries.
“The offensive line needs to work together,” Bustle said. “We haven’t had the same five out there yet. And, I understand (tackle) Corey Glover turned an ankle today.
“I hope they get to work together. The guys need that.”
Today’s scrimmage will feature game-type situations, with coaches in the press box relaying instructions down to the sidelines, plays timed by a game clock, officials and other details they can expect to see on game day.
Players on both offense and defense who harbor plans of breaking into the starting lineup will get one more chance to impress the coaching staff before the season begins.
While the Cajuns have been concentrating on themselves, Bustle and his staff spent much of the summer looking at the Gamecocks’ tendencies.
“We looked a lot at South Carolina this summer,” Bustle said. “We broke down a lot of film. We’ve put a few things in on both sides of the ball. The players will start to look at South Carolina film on Thursday.”
That will follow a review of today’s scrimmage.
As usual, special teams play also will be a big part of Thursday’s practice, including South Carolina special teams prospects.
“Friday will be about the same,” Bustle said. “We’ll have a scripted scrimmage Saturday morning (at approximately 9 a.m.). We’ll be in shorts and we’ll have more than 100 plays to cover all the crazy things that can happen in a game.
“For example, if a quarterback throws a pass and it’s batted up in the air, what should the defensive lineman do? Bat it down.
“We’ll have officials here for that one, too. Last year, one official we had here from Houston said he wanted to come back because it helped him, too.” -->
With work getting in the way of fun most of the time, I know most of us can not make as many practices as we would like. I found this over on ragincajuns.com and thought it would help
