How about a bit of a throwback to the old USL Ragin' Cajuns logo with a new take on an L that morphs into Louisiana. Coincidentally, south Louisiana.

Besides infringing on Arkansas your take is, interesting

At least these included the Chandeleur islands. The gem of the state.

I used inspiration from your L with the flames and kinda added that bottom of the L like it has on the Louisiana. I gotta say it came out allright.
