So I made my first king cake the other day. It was fantastic & it was huge. While the ingredients aren't THAT expensive, it is still a very labor intense product to make. They're actually worth what you pay for them unlike a lot of ____ we over pay for these days.

Does anyone factor in that way back when, when we worked at those kinds of places we had to buy our own uniforms, and now all these millennials get all that stuff for free, and seemingly way more of it. And some of it looks like good quality. Also I dont remember ever getting free food and was NEVER allowed to have customers see us eat, even though we bought the food ourselves
I remember walking to work uphill both ways, in the rain on the way there that changed to snow when I was walking home in the dark. Had to fend off angry, land dwelling sea bass with only the broken umbrella my manager gave me.
That's all I got...a broken umbrella. No cash money. No free lunch (although I was able to spear a few of the angry, land dwelling sea bass with my umbrella that we had for dinner that night).
And did my daddy tip me? Nooooooooo. In fact he took my umbrella and used it to catch Mardi Gras beads at the Bonaparte Parade.
