LOL. Do you really see UL-Monroe calling us Louisiana or UL? No. No matter how successful we may be or how far we may get with the branding efforts they will never call us by our preferred name. I just kindly do the same in return. The extent for which I do this is usually limited to this site as I do not interact or know any UL-Monroe fans.

Yup.

Now that ESPN, the SBC, and the NCAA are complying, the tide has turned, and it is not going back.

Just ignore them.

As for our business dealing with other media, a professional attitude adjustment is warranted every time they try get it wrong.

Interesting to note that Nevada and UNLV don't get along and are in the same Conference. A few years ago, Nevada was known as Nevada Reno and there was Nevada Las Vegas. Then both rebranded as Nevada and UNLV. When they play each other, UNLV only calls them Nevada Reno. This is so similar to our situation. ULM is happy with their brand, but hate our using Louisiana and not ULL. So, we may win the battle nationwide but never locally with ULM. In my mind, ULM is the only school that should have a position similar to UNLV. This has no bearing on La Tech or LSU.

Take all the time you need to get it right. Seemed to work out well for the HC search. My guess is the coach he wants is still coaching somewhere right now and waiting until they are done with their bowl game.
