Looks like it didn't matter what pitcher we trotted out there. The offense is so limited that the 1-0 score made you nervous.

Just looked at the box score. The CC pitcher who's on her 3 straight game still below 40 pitches in the 5th. Yikes.
Again. Why does everyone of our hitters show bunt first then rear back and swing? That approach is terrible and obviously has not worked all year.
Is anyone actually surprised?
Hopefully we go after power hitters in the portal. Don't think small ball worked this year. Would love to have less slap hitters
Sam Roe gets the Cajuns on the board. 6-1.
Got one on the board. Roe with another two out hit to bring home Liscano. Who singled to lead off, then advanced to 3rd with 2 ground outs. Then another ground out the end the inning.
Going to the 7th. 6-1 now.
Not surprised how we are playing.
It has been all season where we really couldn't hit the ball.
What I am still surprised by is that Coastal was only the 7th seed when they are clearly the top team in the Sun Belt. They will win it all.
NIL decimated the Cajun softball team. I had no expectations that this team would be able to hit the ball catch the ball and pitch the ball with any consistency. This will be the first time in forever the Ladies are not in the tournament. Very sad and I believe this is what Cajun softball is going to be like, here on out. If any of these players are good, they will be picked up by somebody else. It WAS fun while it lasted.
I don’t disagree with the decision to throw Wheeler. And I’m not putting a lot of emphasis on Ryan’s numbers.
Pitching in cleanup mode is a lot different than starting 0-0. This was Ryan’s role a few times this year, and there was a reason for that.
With that said, really like her. She didn’t have the stuff you’re looking for out of a major D1 arm. But she competed and seemed mentally tougher than a lot of arms I’ve seen around the country. Exactly the leadership you love to see out of a senior.
Ryan has been tough as nails the second half of the season, both starting and in relief. from the ULM series until season's end, Ryan appeared in 9 games, pitching a total of 41.1 innings and giving up 8 earned runs, for an ERA of 1.35. Three of those appearances were 6 innings or more.
Damn this stinks, but it’s probably just as well to end it on this note and begin working to rebuild this thing.
What is the softball end game? After a few years of swiping g5 players for NIL, even with a national title or 2 or 3, even the best of the p4 programs wont make the amount of extra money being spent, so what happens then?
