We really gonna try and blame this beat down on the umpire? lol
lsu is good. They are very good. We on the other hand are not. The ump could have been cheating for us and we still would have been run ruled.

Nobody gave you a lecture. You was told the program has a standard and expectation level. It remains to be seen if they can maintain that level or not. My bet is they can but it will not be easy.

Re: SB Final: UL. 0, LSU. 14
Remember LSU has to come to Lamson Park in a few weeks. We usually always split with LSU. Who knows what will happen, but we have to pitch and hit better.

We are usually on par or better than them so regularly splitting with them was commonplace. We are nowhere near them this year. They are levels above us. As much is pains me to say they could very well run rule us again in Lafayette. It’s gonna take a few years to get back to that level.

I don't recall a more lopsided loss.
The home field advantage has usually only accounted for a couple few points in any one direction.

We are not as far behind as you seem to think. Yes we have lopsided losses to Texas, Mississippi State and LSU. If you add their RPI together, it is 30. We also are 3-4 against Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama and Houston.
So 3-7 against the top 31 RPI. 10-3 vs everyone else. Our remaining Non Conference games are McNeese, LTUx2, LSU and aTm. We should go 3-2 or better in those.
In conference, only CCU has an RPI better than ours, and nobody else we play is as good as they were last year except ULM, and their current RPI is 63. I do not expect us to win every conference series this year, though I would not be shocked if we did. I do expect us to win every home series and at least 2 of our 4 road series.

We are every bit as far behind lsu and Texas as far as I’m concerned. I’m no softball expert by any means but my eyes have told me enough when watching us play against power houses. I don’t really care about record vs P4. If we actually competed against Texas lsu and Mississippi state maybe I’d agree with you a little more.

I believe you are pretty much accurate on your statement. We have a ways to go before we get to where we want and need to be in softball!

Re: SB Final: UL 0, LSU 14
Agreed. We are two pitchers, 5-6 position players that can HIT!! behind at least.

Get back with me when you get your cranial rectalitis cured.
Next season will be make or break for “standards”. Perfect storm of NIL, CGG’s timing and the SBC got better arrived.
I know it sucks, I don’t like it either.

That seems right. I think our pitchers have done well in spurts, but we have been spoiled with good to great pitchers for decades now. Power bats are definitely a need.
I think we'll get there sooner than most think. Coach Aly and staff have not had a recruiting class or even a complete transfer portal opportunity. The players they signed in the summer from the portal were the best that they could get or wanted to get out of players that had not signed committed yet.
I'm excited to see what they will bring in after this season. But I feel there are plenty of bright spots ahead this spring before we get there.

Yes, yes and yes some more.

Are you trying to say the standards went out the window for this season? So the team has no goals? Just because a new coach is here and Glasco left and the SBC got better doesn't mean the players gave up on the season. Go ask any coach or player if they don't expect to win the conference. We will see if they can.

Case in point, every run makes a point.

When there is a bases loaded 'walk', why do they still call it a 'run'?

This. Everyone is upset because of the run rule losses to teams with RPI of 4, 12 & 14. I am also eagerly anticipating next year. But THIS year, we have wins over RPI 18, 20 and 31 and close losses to RPI of 1, 1, 18 and 20. Our worst loss is to # 127 Sam Houston. Those are all good numbers. Not great, but certainly not anything to make me think we have fallen off into nothingness, as some here seem to believe.
As of today our SOS is 10. No one else in the SBC is close; the best of the rest is JMU at 23. Half of the conference is over 100 in SOS. Our opponents SOS is 40. Only TxSt [37] is better in conference. Troy [48] is the only other team in the conference better than 100. What this means is that we play tougher teams OOC than anyone else in the conference, and that those teams are more battle tested against good competition than all but one other conference team's opponents.
Am I concerned about our offensive production? Yes. Am I concerned about our pitching? Certainly. However, when competing against teams in the RPI range of our conference opponents we are 11-3. I see no reason to believe that we will do worse than that ratio in conference. That would be a conference record of 19-5. Most of us would be happy with that outcome, considering the turmoil surrounding the program this past offseason.
