This MUST be a joke post.

Re: Time to give Brad Boyd a shot.
I find this entire notion ridiculous. Do a national coaching search. If what that search turns up is that Brad Boyd is best for UL basketball, great. If not, I sure hope we don’t have mopers and whiners who refuse to support the program because it wasn’t given to their guy. The only people excluded from our search should be the folks on staff now. No offense to them. I’m sure there are some great basketball minds on that bench, but they need to go get their chance somewhere else. We cannot afford those ties.

Never hire from a losing program.
From out or within

Yeah because hiring a proven coach with experience has really paid dividends. *hard eye roll. You aren't seeing the forest for the trees brother.

Oh yeah let’s not even talk about the support a change would garner. Brad would triple the attendance.
But sure, let’s put our noses in the air and think this program is too good for Brad.
Thank you!!!!

How is our proven head coach with a ton of college coaching experience doing?

Apples and oranges. Our football program was at its highest level in school history. Basketball is at its lowest. Football and Basketball are not the same. And when we're talking about having the popularity, personality and connections to raise money and get butts in the seats, Brad is light years ahead of Des. Basketball and football are not the same.

Awesome, Brad runs a youth program that his in-laws were involved with.
How’s that strategy working out for Women’s basketball?

So, let's just disregard every other young, hungry, motivated coach with COLLEGE coaching experience just because our old, stale coach with experience is failing? Are you serious?

Re: Time to give Brad Boyd a shot.
Same here. The minute Bob Marlin is fired I will return to the Cajun Dome. Until then I refuse to support this crap anymore.

Absolutely.
Never pass up the opportunity to publicly promote the program.

If Brad is hired, I would continue not showing up bc it shows we aren’t serious.

UL hired Justin and he was the associate head coach with zero college coaching experience.

No, Brad has spent the past however many years coaching kids, not grown men. Clearly, he's run an impressive operation. But this is an entirely different job.
It's obvious that Brad really, really wants this job, which is in his favor. But it sure seems like the person that you're going to hand the reins to a Division I job should have relevant experience.
He coached under Lee for a few seasons.

The football program and basketball programs aren't even near them same to compare.

The best take.

Re: Time to give Brad Boyd a shot.
Brad Boyd will not be the next head coach of this university. Having said that he needs to be on the next staff….

Bruh, I thought that was crazy, and that didn't turn out too great either, right?
And, we're talking major college basketball for a school with a rich history.
This would be akin to Notre Dame hiring Gerry Foust. How did that turn out?

UL hired Mike Lotief and his wife and it worked out OK.
