Maybe I'm too young to remember playing them every year as we haven't played every year since 2000. I just don't hate tech. Louisiana tech has been 3-9 the past 3 years and is 1-3 this year.

I would be shocked if the SBC presidents would ever invite Tech. Some don't seem to understand that their administration (not fans) have purposefully tried to damage multiple schools in this league.
And while they try to put themselves out their as some kind of academic powerhouse they are far from it. I have personally known professors at Tech that left because of what amounts to academic fraud in passing students with advanced degrees to keep up their numbers.

It’s a list of Ruston’s dishonesty and other missteps with SBC members. UL and ULM won’t be the only ones closing the door. It’s pretty much DOA.
Tommy Mac’s little bravado video, remember where he was before Tech. He was playing to that audience too. Though they’d love to move up, at least they know don’t bother trying the SBC.
We're moving to a P2 and then everyone else model. The PAC and MWC are trying to fill gaps, unfortunately there aren't schools available that will bring the brand value that you had before. So, the conferences look at markets to fill the gaps, admittedly Texas State is in a good spot located between Austin and San Antonio. However, the competition for eyes on your product is fierce, with UT nearby. I don't see television networks continuing to pay boatloads of cash with some of these reworked conferences.Quote:
