Re: Sun Belt Tournament action …
Troy with a 2 out walk in the 1st leads to 2 runs.
Oh, those 2 out walks.

Only thing worse is a lead off walk

That 3-2 pitch to Tolley was very close. I thought the ump was going to ring him up. I am behind home plate.

Maybe that's why they pitch to DBo.
Tolley walked in the first, the guy behind him hits a home run.
Tolley HPB in the 3rd, the guy behind him hits another home run.
Solos turn into crooked numbers.

Tolley and Lyon had words for the second time, this time after Lyon brushed him inside above the belt with a first pitch fastball. And as with the last Tolley free pass with two outs, Boyd followed with his second two-run bomb of the game.
That is what you call protection.
4-0 App State T3rd.

Possible. Of course, it is also possible for #43 JMU to get into the Top 40 with two losses to the Cajuns. But more possible for Georgia Southern due to how close #67 is to #60..

Could it be that they know Herrmann has a lingering injury and want to give him the full week’s rest??

It could be a number of things. It could be that they want what they feel is their best arm (Morgan) going today and Herrmann is slotted for another day (matchup) and/or another role. It could be that they would like to get Herrmann some more rest for the real prize (NCAA Tournament).
I like leading with Morgan and Langevin for multiple reasons. The most important game is the next one.

I agree, I would love it if we could save LP today

Re: Sun Belt Tournament action …
I'm mind boggled how much Troy and Coastal have nose-dived after taking 2/3 from the Cajuns.
-
Re: Sun Belt Tournament action …
Brooks Bryan breaks up the perfect game with a solo shot. 4-1 App State B5th.

Re: Sun Belt Tournament action …
App St makes it a 1 run ballgame in the 8th. Still two on with one out
-
Re: Sun Belt Tournament action …
Troy’s outfielders collide on a routine fly ball. App has bases loaded with one out down by 1 in the 8th
-
Re: Sun Belt Tournament action …
And Troy gets out of the inning with a 6-5 lead
-
Re: Sun Belt Tournament action …
Base-running mistake by App may have cost them. Runner at third should have been on the bag for a tag on the shallow fly ball out to CF (second out). But he was down the line, for some inexplicable reason. My 12U teams know this.
Even if he did not come all the way home on a tag, make the center fielder make the throw and you gauge it. That was the tying run.

Gotta be some sort of Cajun voodoo. USM loses the series to us and then goes on a nice little run. Moral of the story: Do not beat the Cajuns.

I am hearing that Paetow is a scratch for Southern Miss due to a sprained wrist.

Does Coastal need this win to get into a regional? If they lose are they definitely out or on the bubble?

From listening to the D1 Baseball guys, Coastal should be "bubble in". But they really need to win at least another game to be safe imo.

They fall into an elimination game if they lose this so they aren’t completely out. That being said they more than likely need to win another game to be safe. If not they better hope there are many stolen bids
