Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
Pitching has no mental toughness.....Mullins, Ball, and watching Beavers today go out and KNOW they are gonna kick _____....you could see Landry defeated after the first hit
-
Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
Split that home field advantage in half.

Exactly

Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
Omg 7-0?! Baylor has our number this year it seems. :(
We can look like an elite team at times and then turn around and look like the Bad News Bears at others.
-
Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
It’s time to make a dent right here. Crooked number would be nice.

Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
I already turned it off. Not gonna watch this tragedy.

Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
Got run ruled by Liberty then beat OU right after. So that.

Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
I’m sorry but we cannot beat our chests and demand to have a seat at the table with the big dogs and then proceed to get skull-____ed in Game 2 of a regional AT HOME.
It’s going to take some real friggin guts to get out of this regional. Hope our girls are up to the task.

What does this even mean? We are a big dog in softball.
Yes, it will be a battle, but this was never going to be easy. Far from over.

It means it gives the committee an out to never award us a host site again. Baylor is good but they ain’t great. I feel the same about us. Proud of the team but nowhere near 13th best in the nation.

Sorry but that is not how it works. Nothing we do this year will impact whether we host or not next year.

That a tad overdramatic. We last hosted in ‘16. I doubt that when we are in this position in the coming years the committee will look back on the ‘24 results. It doesn’t work that way.

Oh but it does. There’s a reason we haven’t hosted in 8 years.

Who won the Baton Rouge Regional last year? If I’m not mistaken they are hosting again after not advancing.

Didn’t the Cajuns win their regional in 2016 to advance to a super? Why would winning a regional at home have any negative effect on future national seeds?

Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
Freaking embarrassing getting run ruled in your own home. Until the girls start believing they can win they will have to be satisfied with winning the SBC
-
Re: Lafayette Regional: Baylor vs Louisiana
Need to regroup and move forward taking one game at a time. We can still do this.

This has been far from a consistent team but we have proven we can beat anyone at any given time. Just need to bounce back. That second inning did us in. Reset and regroup.

Very surprised by the poor effort all around, especially defense early and not competing at the plate. We gave up a total of 2 earned runs and got 2 singles.

Finally a rational, logical comment. Well done, exactly right and thank you!
Geaux Cajuns!

Re: G2 Final: Lafayette Softball Regional: Louisiana 0, Baylor 8
So, when is the staff going to recruit elite WCWS pitching and quit resting on “we’re good” every offseason since the Covid shutdown year?
