Don’t care. It’s a meaningless Natty for all/most of college football.

It's not arbitrary. There are logical rationales for why they pick who they pick, and the teams that get selected must win two games to be named champion. Would you rather go back to the disaster that was the BCS?
When you have to compare apples and oranges, you will undoubtedly upset someone.

Heinz 57 and A1 Steak Sauce is the ONLY valid apples/oranges comparison.

I have to disagree. I think that apples and oranges are also a valid applies/oranges comparison.

Well thats exactly what a A1/Heinz 57 comparison is.
One is made with orange peel and the other is made from apple extract.

Wait is this true? I've obviously never heard this before, and I can't say I've ever tasted orange essence in my A1 sauce.

Re: Who's your pick for the Football National championship?
Got a kind of long winded question pertaining to the hand picked teams that will compete for a "cough, cough" national championship.
It was reported by ESPN that the number one reason why Florida State was not selected was due do its QB getting injured. Had he not been injured, they would have had a lot better chance to be one of the hand picked teams.
So lets say a Georgia, or Clemson, or any other P5 school who went undefeated during the season and owed 90% of those wins to their super human QB who (for sake of this argument) and had just won the Heisman but decides to opt out of post season play for the upcoming NFL draft. Would you think the committee for selecting the teams that will participate in the "cough, cough" national championship playoff would by pass them?
The reason for your super human QB not playing are for two different reasons, but the result is the same.
I just saying super human. All I'm trying to express here is the guy responsible for most of the wins for your season is not available to play. Why would the committee use this factor in deciding if the team is good enough to compete?

I believe it depends on the depth of the position. FSU was down to a poor 3rd string quarterback. Several years back Alabama had a better freshman quarterback than their Heisman winner. You have to be honest about the strength and weaknesses.

it is never meaningless. but if you pull for a team that simply will never be in a position to win one, it's easier on the fan-psyche to simply say NO team's fans ever "really" win one, that way you're not missing out on anything. that one can take that position and not see how transparent the rationalization is sorta blows my mind.

This is not a Natty. Never has been. It's an exclusive invitational.
The winner of the UGA/FSU game will have every right to claim a Natty as the winner of this invitational.
