I am not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. Am I missing something?
Hopefully coach Morgen shares his changes with DC Morgan.

Wow, you found a typo. I am impressed!

That would be nice.

That or you don’t know what the DCs name is.

. . . either way, hopefully that was his worst performance as a Louisiana coach . . .

Crawfish knows
Re: Defensive Achilles heels
I think we can compete only if the Defense knows what to do at least 2 seconds BEFORE the ball is snapped.
Re: Defensive Achilles heels
IMO the fast tempo offense was a surprise and is probably more effective very early in the season when a young team is tentative at regular speed much less supersonic. I hope it does not blindside them again but we will see.
I also have to commend the referees for getting the ball ready for play so quickly without one delay

They may have gotten it ready quickly, but they spotted the ball terribly.

The fast tempo offense was not a surprise. The actual team speed of odu was the surprise. Dez said specifically that they ran the same kind of offense as Tennessee in his interview with Jay last week. As soon as they came out in the split stacked wideouts I said to myself here we go. Tennessee has killed teams over the top ever since Josh Heupel got there. They are very tough to scheme for and I think they’ll give many teams fits. What frustrated me the most was the lack of safety help. It seemed like they were nowhere to be found.

IMO the tempo was a huge surprise. The team wasn't set plenty of times. A few times they were looking to the sidelines and the ball was snapped.

I’m not sure that equals a surprise. They knew all this going into it. It just shows our lack of preparation and conditioning. IMHO.

Well then that isn’t saying much about Des considering he compared their offense to Tennessee… who is an up tempo offense. It’s like if our basketball coach said team A plays just like Arkansas’ 40 minutes of hell and then is surprised when they get pressed all game. I don’t believe that one bit.

I'm so not sure they had more team speed than the Cajuns.

Exactly, coaching staff was totally unprepared defensively.

They didn’t…we were just gassed and/or out of position at times.

It was a combination of the two. Their wideouts were faster than our CB's and we had some poor jams at the line of scrimmage that led to getting beat over the top.
ODU is going to put up points this season, it is going to be a question if they can stop other teams enough. They stopped us (or we stopped ourselves) just enough to get the win.
One play doesn't determine a game, but I thought the reverse fumble on 2nd & 6 was a big play. We were into a good rhythm and didn't need to get that fancy. Although there were no turnovers in the game, that is as close to a TO as it can get.
