Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
Golding would sound great. He’s from South Louisiana, and probably has good relationships with area coaches. Coming from Bama, would he possibly be looking for a P5 job?
Sale would also be great, especially if we’re looking for someone who knows the current culture. Also a good recruiter. I’m sure we wouldn’t have a problem affording either.

Tyson Helton
HC at WKU
An offensive wizard. I think we can get him.

Toney has stated he wants to be a NFL DC, which means that UF DC is a much better opportunity. Don't get me wrong, if he wants to interview for the job, then he absolutely gets one, and is the only current assistant coach I would consider for the job.

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
I think there will be some flashy names that are floated and will 'apply' for the job. I expect Dr Maggard to look for someone with a plan to continue and grow what has been built. He isn't going to get distracted by the shiny object, he will go for substance. If they happen to be a flashy name, great, but not a qualification.

The offensive wizard at WKU is the OC.

The OC over there is 30. A little too young. Trust me, he is running Helton’s offense.
Tyson Helton has a very impressive coaching history, is in his early 40’s, and in the sinking ship of CUSA. A little familiar, no?
He’s getable.

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
Now that everything is official. It would be nice if we could make this a serious thread.

His age doesn’t matter. He is the offensive guru there. Last season WKU average less than 20 per game and finish with a 5-7 record. They demote the OC and hire Kittley from Houston Baptist. Now averaging 40+. That’s not Heltons doing, that’s Kittley’s doing.

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
Ron Roberts, he can keep coaching staff intact if not there gonna be kids I. Transfer portal

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
Ty Helton makes sense. He was born in Gainesville, FL.

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
I know I'm paranoid and beating a dead horse but I just want our next coach now.

Helton has been the OC at WKU, USC and Tennessee. Developed NFL QBs and set records. All last season proved is that he has the administrative abilities to solve problems and find coaching talent.
I would trust him 100% to build a championship staff here.

It's my understanding that most of the assistants are staying with you guys. I hope that helps. : )

Hopefully. Unless the new guy does what Billy did, and brings his own people with him.

Re: Louisiana Football Coaching Search
I’m more in line with T’s wants. Someone with Louisiana, SE Texas, Mississippi experience. Preferably someone with Saban ties, and not the flim fam’Music Man’! A coach who is grounded with personal integrity.

Staying until the new guy gets hired.

But why not hire within??? The assistants that are there now are pretty good considering the 11 game win streak that's going to go to 13.

They may but that doesn't mean everyone stays.
