What makes you say he is a good X & O’s coach? He at one time was but that was years ago. The game has changed on him.

They found the money to give Napier a one million dollar raise. They will find the money to get Marlin out if needed.

Who is lining up to pay up for the basketball coach?

I think his X&O style has evolved with the game. It’s his Jimmy’s and Joe’s that are the issue. Hasn’t developed program depth and only focused on a one year team year in and year out. When that’s the focus, if 1 or 2 of your players doesn’t work out then the team doesn’t reach its potential.

They are equally to blame. Jessie brought in hoodlums and marginal students who couldn't get eligible until half way through the season. Robert did not change the culture when he took over.

Jessie worked within the system at the time.
APR did not exist.
The point you made about Robert Lee continuing the ways of the past is accurate. Problem is he was under new rules.
The other factor is David Walker made Robert Lee do a roster reset. He never recovered.

It’s the opposite. He has had TONS of talent and done nothing with it

I won't be ticked or even surprised. This is the best team in the league this season. All they have to do is prove it.

Not going to matter this is his last contract at UL.

If He pulls a rabbit out of his hat and gets even a win in the dance he’ll get another extension.

Let’s make the championship game first. Baby steps.

He has to win the conference tournament first.

Win the conference, make the NCAA's, then ride off into the sunset. The way to go out this year.

And what a contract it is - doesn't winning the conference give him an automatic extension? Isn't that what happened a few years ago when he got his last extension?

I'd rather not. Let the financial resources flow to football and the diamond sports.

I think that would be awesome. Don't think it should warrant ANOTHER extension and raise, though, unless for some reason that's an automatic, binding kicker in the current contract. No one is going to hire him away for more money just because he wins a conference championship in 2022.

I like how CajunRebel throws in the word again like this is a common occurrence.

He is saying its NCAA tournament or bust. Winning record in regular season dont matter.

I believe the current contract calls for an automatic extension with either a regular season or tournament championship. 2nd place in either triggers nothing.
