Tim Floyd. Barring any interference from the Hornets, he's a Cajun next year.

You are completely off base with this view.

a few friends dads who send regular checks to RCAF so take that for what it is. But it is the only name i hear them saying.

Floyd won't be hired if he is not cleared of the USC allegations. I predict he will be cleared near the end of the month. That does not mean I believe he will be our next coach.

I think Tim Floyd can coach but I think most ADs are reluctant to hire him since he's seen as a cheater. I know Calipari is, but Calipiri cheats you to the final 4.

However disenchanted people may be with the UL athletic department and recent decisions, this opinion still doesn't make any sense.

I don't want anybody to cheat us anywhere.

Regardless of who the next HEAD coach is, I truly hope they bring on Brad Boyd as an assistant. I know many of you on here chuckle at the thought, but the truth is this guy is around all the premier players in the state through his AAU teams, and that surely couldn't hurt for recruiting.

Any coach that is worth their dollar will have plenty of contacts, they won't need Brad Boyd for that reason.

I can promise you this, Tim Floyd nor Kennedy would need your assitance with AAU coaches. They have contacts throughout the south, and neither of them would need any introduction to Louisiana HS coaches. Now if they want you on the staff, it's their decision. I'm sure a young energetic guy like yourself as an assistant could be a good thing.

Billy Kennedy was here in 2005 when he took the Southeastern Louisiana Lions to the NCAA's. In the NCAA tournament, they played OK State off their feet before falling short. Tim Floyd may or may not be the coach here. However, he probably wants to coach in college again. If not, he would not have tried to clear his name by testifying in the Feb. 19 NCAA hearing which looked into the USC situation.

Sorry, I tried to stay out of most of the basketball comments over the past month. I know the history of decisions have turned many people off and they don't believe that a change will be made. I'm certain a change will be made, but I'm not certain who will be the final few names to interview.

I am hoping for a big name hire that comes with an impressive resume. Tim Floyd fits that criteria. I would also be satisfied with Kennedy or Butch. I am totally against hiring anyone who is currently a highschool coach. I also wouldn't mind seeing Brad Boyd hop on as an assistant. I think he could bring a lot to a staff.

Who are the candidates for the men's and women's basketball program? This process needs to start on Monday. We need to recruit several kids to fill in the front court.

What's the story with E. Rogers? He's won about 15 games in 3 years. 2009-2010 RECORD 9-21? Now that's progress!!

As cliche as it sounds, I hope we hire the best coach and the best man that we can afford. The rest works itself out.

I wouldn't necessarily be against a Tim Floyd hire. Like you say, he certainly has the credentials and experience and the local ties to recruit not only nationally but locally. About 2 months ago, he is the guy that I would have put first on my list. However, I don't think you'll see the university hire Floyd now. He has too much baggage to his name and they are not into unnecessary risks. I think this is what scared them off about the Orgeron possible hire.

They won't hire Floyd unless he is cleared by the NCAA regarding the USC situation. There are rumors out there that he will be cleared very shortly. How accurate those are I don't know. If true, he will be a candidate. Now his asking price may be one we can't afford. Now I say this as he may still have a pretty high salary were he to stay with the Hornets.
