I walked out of the basketball game the same time as a group of football players; all I know is a few of them were REALLY big dudes (which is saying something because I'm not a small man) and they were having fun - and were none too impressed with ULM's basketball team.

I agree 100%, why don't we know who visited, is it our local paper that is at fault or is it our athletic information department?

Coaches are not allowed to speak about recruits. The athletic department is not supposed to release that info.

We used to get info from redzone. Cajun T did a great job there but he now has much bigger things do

Nope, makes us appreciate even more the work Cajun T did......unless someone is in the know with the recruits directly, we are nothing but a bunch of tweet readers.

Of the 12ish visiting.......by my count only 3 visiting had tweets prior to the weekend visit. It may be a good thing we don't know. The last week will be like the head coach search thread.....but without the airport updates.

There is a good chance several of those visiting over next 3 weeks are committed to others given our late start. Probably something that is best not advertised.

Good point. Could be that if the school's to whom they committed get wind of their visits, it'll bring down a lot of pressure on them to stay the course.

It's all about sources. T did an excellent job cultivating his.

And, let's remember, most everyone there is brand new and there has been no time to establish new sources (except for Trichel).

But hey...that silence thing worked ok in the coaches' search....maybe it'll reap dividends here too.

Because their sources are guys who are close to recruiting in the univ .. the way SEC recruits vs G5 are approcahed totally different G5 wants their recruits to fly under the radar

There are xxx (pick a number somewhere between 10-1000) people directly covering LSU/SEC recruiting. Until the next Cajun T happens.....we are at 0.00. Cajun T talked directly with recruits AND internals for info. This is something we absolutely, positively DO NOT want Buckley doing. We are much better off in the dark, with an occasional tweet.

A few have already answered the questions. It's about about those guys having relationships in the recruiting world and internal relationships with those staffs.

Doesn't LSU already have their early commitment (signing period) list filled out?

If so, that would make it extremely easy to track their movements.

I don't see the lack of information on visits as a negative to the The Advertiser or Buckley. When you look at P5's or G5's for that matter the majority (not all) of the recruiting information/breaking news comes from sites dedicated to recruiting or the university sports. When I think of this news, I think of orangebloods.com, gigemgazette.com, 247, rivals, etc.

Once a business sees enough profit in dedicating resources to the Cajun fan base, it will happen.

Only 2 JC's came in Amadou Fofana and Tim Faison. Allen did not come in this weekend as he stated. The rest were high school athletes including McGee, Shaw , Butler , Riley and 4 others.

I believe they rescheduled him. Cajun Redzone was a side gig, simply did it because we had no coverage. Josh Parrott and Luke Johnson did a good job of covering HS recruiting in the media.
