They have a respectable run defense. Keep them off balance with 50/50 run/pass and we'll win. Brooks Haack gets 1st 300 yd game. UL pulls away late. Driving down from DFW to see this one.

A lot to a little.
Cajuns win 34-23. They can get to the QB which concerns me but if we play like we should on D, we should be able to keep the lead.
We will handle them like we handled Northwestern St. Akron has lost 7 out of their last 8 road games by 28 points or more. They are not a good team. If they are wishing 3 TDs of us at the end of the 4th we are not as good as we think we are.
I watched them last week against Savanna State and I think their passing offense may be a challenge for our secondary. They have a QB who can throw deep, but he was not the starter last week. He did however, play a lot. I think the Cajuns win big, but the Cajuns better not look past this team or relax in the 2nd half or these guys might sneak up on them. Not sure what the over under is, but it should be a high scoring game. The Cajuns should score gobs of points and McGuire should have another career day. I would not be surprised if we also get burned on a few over the top big plays.

If this team isnt prepared to play Hud's successor at UNA and a Bowden and his former QB as the OC, he will have a lot of explaining to do.
I believe we're poised for a special year. This team feels different. I think this offensive line has a cieling we've not seen here since early Bustle years. I think the WR corps compliments itself well. Eli is a difference maker, and Haack will make you pay for cheating up or cheating back. We have depth. Our LBs are the fastest set I've seen here in my adult life.
If we can get the communication issue resolved, and somehow Thomas comes back seamlessly in that regard, the trip to Arkansas St will decide our bowl fate.
Having said that, if my beliefs are accurate, we need to thoroughly dominate Akron in all facets. It's time to make a statement. Time to take the next step with this football program, and I believe this personnel can do that.
11-1 season.

Consistency. That's all I want. Consistently move the ball downfield. Cover the WR and the DL play hard on the line. Get the ball, burn time moving it down and score....each time. If I see that, then it will be a special year for me. If we win by 1 point each game, so be it. 11-1! I'll take that any day.
They haven't thrown well all year. They had 100 total yards of offense against Pittsburgh. They are more of a threat to run, especially with their QB. Having said that, I think they will get a few "big" plays against us (more than 25 yards) and put up offensive numbers in the upper 300's against us. This should be enough to keep the game somewhat closer than many think. The key will be turnovers (there is no turnover battle, remember). If we don't kill ourselves, we should be able to run them down.

Mark Hudspeth originally tried to make Saturday a 1 p.m. kickoff to try and take advantage of the Louisiana heat against a Midwestern team
I'm glad we kept it an evening game. Akron isn't a Midwestern team we should have to make that sacrifice.
I hope we win easily enough that it's not stressful, but not dominant enough that we get cocky before La-turd

After doing my homework, I'm going to revise my prediction.
20-14 Cajuns
This defense is going to present us with some problems, especially in the first half. I see a low scoring affair on Saturday.
