There are some hybrids out there today. Look at Dallas Clark, heck even Jimmy Graham and Jeremy Shockey. They split out like WR's, but stay close to the line. They are fast enough to get where they need to and big enough to block. It's pretty cool to see Clark block when Manning calls one of those audible sweep plays. _
Anquan Boldin ran a 4.8, Terrell Owens ran a 4.6, and there's a long list of others who ran a 4.5 which is around what Green will probably run. With a WR, it's not about how fast you are, it's about how good of a route runner you are.
As for the Hybrids, Clark and Shockey both weigh 20+ more pounds than Green. And grahm weighs 30 pounds more than Green. He should be an effective blocker in the NFL but I don't see him lining up on the line as a TE. Look at colston. He was a TE at hostrfa and he is 6-4 225. For the record, Green is 6-6 230.

I am actually guessing at some of these.
Steve Smith is 4.4 guy
Andre Johnston is a 4.4 guy
Santonio Holmes is a 4.4 guy
Greg Jennings is a 4.4 guy
Roddy White is a 4.4 guy
Marques Colston is a 4.5 guy
Calvin Johnston is a 4.3 guy
Larry Fitzgerald is a 4.6 guy
Reggie Wayne is a 4.4 guy
Desean Jackson is a 4.3 guy
Percy Harvin is 4.3
Mike Wallace is 4.3
Santana Moss is 4.4
Lee Evans is 4.4
Devin Hester is 4.4
Brandon Marshall is 4.5
Anquan Boldin is 4.7
TO is probably 4.8 or 4.9 by now
I got my list from here:

For the most part I think today's better WR's are fast.....I do agree about Route running though. I think Wes Welker exemplifies what you say.
I just don't think Ladarius moves like a WR. We will see though how he is drafted. Hopefully he has an uninjured season so he can do well and get drafted high.
Re: Is Ladarius an NFL WR or TE?
I will agree Ladarius can be a TE if and ONLY IF he is able to put on at least 20 pounds. that's gonna be hard to do but if he can, I think he has a better chance of succeeding
Re: Is Ladarius an NFL WR or TE?
Ladarius reminds me of Jerry babb. Didn't look like he was fast but when he got in the open, no one could catch him.

Ladarius is a catcher. NFL coaches and scouts will find this out.

And long stride guys like Ladarius are deceptively fast and QBs love them as a target. It's much more difficult for a DB to figure out how to stay on them. His height is a huge attraction to NFL scouts. With Ladarius's soft hands, great height, and athleticism, he's a very nice NFL WR prospect. He'll get listed as a TE going into the draft, but he'll be drafted as a WR. Like someone else mentioned... he's got the Colston reality working in his favor. Everyrone is going to want the next Marques... with two more inches of height.
Down day for Ladarius Green
For the Ragin' Cajuns, tight end Ladarius Green was only able to manage 47 yards receiving on five receptions against Arkansas State. The Red Wovles have the top defense in the conference which explains the statistical drop but Green is still a great start ...
Re: Down day for Ladarius Green
How many TE in the country would love a 5 catch 47 yard day?
A bunch!
Ladarius Green Draft Projections
111. Chicago Bears: Ladarius Green, TE, Louisiana-Lafayette
Mike Martz is gone, so the Bears will probably start using tight ends - that is, of course, unless they hire another crazed lunatic as their offensive coordinator
Re: Ladarius Green Draft Projections
Pick #64 New Orleans Saints: Ladarius Green, TE, Louisiana
Now the Saints have a double trouble at the tight end position that will give fits to opposing defenses to pair up with Darren Sproles and the speedy outside WRs.
To that I say....good luck, NFL.

If this would happen I would actually buy a Saints jersey, and I'm not a fan of jerseys at all.
Re: Ladarius Green Draft Projections
I've said for a while, Peewee is almost identical to Marques Colston in a lot of ways. Colston played TE in college as well. I see a very similar career for PeeWee. If the Saints lose Colston to free agency this year, I think Ladarius could fill that void brilliantly. /homerwishes.
