This is probably one of the better OOC schedules since Marlin got here. Only 4 teams on the entire list with NET worse than 200. If we get Hofstra instead of Buffalo and Iona instead of High Point, that drops to 3 opponents over 200 NET, and gives us 4 under 100 and 3 more between 101 and 150. This is a much better schedule than one would think by just reading the names.

If we want to win games in the NCAA tournament we have to get a better seed. If we aren't gonna get teams to come here...we need to go on road and play teams in the 50-100 NET ranking on the road. Only way we are going to push our chances for an 11-12 seed.

Agreed.
It's sneaky good.

McNeese is not going to RPI 321 this year, my assumption is they are going to be a top 150 team, potentially even better than that.

That's great. But RPI hasn't been used as a barometer in college basketball for about four years now.

Yes, but it is a barometer for you to get an idea of how good or bad a team was the previous year.

I did not break them all down, but the NET scores were not quite as good as the RPI, but still much better than usual.

I’ve 95% written that game off already. McNeese FB is horrible (just lost to Alcorn), fans already looking to MBB. WW will be coming off his 10 game suspension, think the Cajuns will be his first home game. Winnable, long odds.
Re: MBB: Louisiana Releases 2023-24 Non-Conference Schedule
. . . I doubt WW will be as good in blue and gold as he was in purple and gold . . . oh, I mean his players . . .

Would be epic if he fails.
