IMHO, I think this is what is prompting this new round of reorgs.
No doubt. How big will the PAC remnants want to get in response to being raided again? I'm thinking that the TV money won't be enough for them to consider going past the Rocky Mountains.
Once the dust settles out west, then, it will be our time to move on the 4 schools I mentioned

That would line up the Sun Belt West as:
UL
ULM
Troy
Arkansas State
Memphis
Southern Miss
Texas State
Second, I'm looking at Florida and the top of the list is USF. That would line up the Sun Belt East as:
JMU
ODU
Marshall
App State
Ga State
Ga Southern
Coastal
USF
I'm not even giving a school like Tulsa a chance because they don't have a baseball program. No FCS call ups unless their budget is at least middle of the pack in the Sun Belt.
If we drop ULM and Texas State, the next two for the west I would add are Rice & UTSA.
Memphis and USF do not fit into the makeup of the SBC. Yes they are in the footprint, but the large metro area doesn’t fit the cultural makeup.
UAB and ECU culturally are a better fit than Memphis, Tulane or USF.

SMU, Memphis and Tulane are not just located in major markets. They are well established brands with some combination of large fanbases, large piles of money to use and recent evidence of ability to play top level football.
Culture? We share much more culturally with Dallas, Memphis and NOLA than we will ever do with any school further east.
Adding schools simply because they share a zip code with large population centers and offer nothing else is what gets conferences in trouble. That is not the case with the above schools.

His is that working for the AAC and CUSA? Are they trending up or down?
Because the SBC is on a fricken rocket ship.

The AAC is repeating the exact same errors that doomed the CUSA. They added schools from large population centers that offered virtually nothing else. This is not the case for SMU, Memphis or Tulane.

They are not and will never be cultural fits in the SBC.
Re: Lots of talk on Twitter (no credence).
Summertime spillover from the CSSN board. There’s a group, mainly newbies, that have a never dying b0n3r for ECU and others they think the SBC needs now. If they’re that darn unhappy already, why the heck they joined?
AFA FCS move ups, pound sand. That’s CDOA’s lot in life now.

ECU and UAB would be fricken huge for the SBC. The only thing that would make that better would be dropping ULM and adding LaTurd, UAB and ECU.

Why would UAB be a cultural fit and not Memphis?

Fully agree. AAC only needed to reload with UAB, FAU, & Louisiana then call it a day. They grossly watered down their conference. As for SBC, 14 is plenty of teams. Actually 12 is enough. But it was explained there was no loss of media revenue taking in the Virginia schools- ODU and JMU plus both have a lot of moolah, so understandable.

No south Al? They are a young football program that is getting better every year. And their diamond sports are always strong.

I’m sorry but not Tulane New Orleans bowl was in their own backyard and the Cajuns outnumbered them by a lot. Big city with no fan base the other really don’t know about then
