I think people need to stop interacting with recruits on social media beyond just liking the post lol. My social media feeds are finally Florida-less after a lot of manicuring, but the number of grown men (Florida fans) commenting on 17/18 year olds' social media posts. Ugh

The best policy right here. On the RR account, when recruits "show love," we more often than not 'like' the message. Just to show that fans are paying attention to their interest. And when they commit to UL, we'll welcome them with a "Welcome to #cULture" or something similar. Outside of that, there really is no benefit to interacting with them.
Also the part about it just being kinda weird for 30/40/50 year old dudes to be messaging teenagers.

I think correcting them on social media is a bad look. Our energy would be better spent communicating with admin to make sure recruits are using the correct name in the first place.

Talking directly to 17 year old recruits on social media is weird. And lecturing a teenager on the correct use of our name is "Karen-like". Let our recruiters, coaches, etc. handle how these kids refer to us.

It makes ZERO sense to correct a recruit on social media. Not only does it NOT build any rapport or goodwill, it is a very effective tool for rivals to point to when recruiting against us.
As a group, does it make sense for us to be proactive in calling out these individuals when they do this online and visible to the recruits. Once again, it doesn't need to get ugly, but definitely let the recruit know that this person is a very small sampling of what the Ragin' Cajun fanbase is like.
