I agree to an extent. I want to see more action and less talk, but he still has to talk. I don't see anything wrong with THIS message. These are 18-22 year old kids with a lot of distractions this week and they probably think they are way better than ULM.

Do you think the players believe this? Probably not.

And when a 1 win team beats a 2 win team, is that really an upset?
The thought of "taking the other team lightly" would never enter their mind.
The thought of taking a team with half as many wins as you "seriously" needs to be reminded and repeated.

Two years ago, an inferior ULM team beat us at Cajun Field.
Four years ago, an inferior ULM team has us beaten until we found a way to pull one out in the final seconds.
I think talking to this team is a pretty good idea.

This year an inferior Akron team beat us at Cajun Field. The only constant here is the coaching staff.

That's good.

9-4 X4 is pretty consistent and the best that has ever been.

Using that metric can we compare the strength of schedule against some of our better years from the 80's? A rise in wins correlated with a stark decrease in quality of opponents.

Including the coach you refer to from the 1980's the only consistency the last 3 coaches before Hud displayed were symptoms ranging from paltry to severe inconsistency.
All three prior, had Hud type schedules at their own low points, yet none since 96 had gotten over .500
4x 9-4 is incredible.
