And we did not receive a Top 8 National Seed in 2012 ... nor should we have expected to (I did not). We should have been seeded a little higher.

No doubt.

The softball committee is Lucy holding the football, and we're Charlie Brown. I'm not getting all geeked about finally kicking that football.
You are huddled in the corner right now ... aren't you? ;)

Re: Top 8 National Seed Comparison ...
I think UL gets the national seed - based on the criteria and the cold hard facts. I think the trump card is 2-1 head to head. Road record and # 6 non-conference RPI also help.
Do we expect South Alabama to get a host slot for regionals? Maybe LSU could be sent there?

LOL. You are welcome.

Re: Top 8 National Seed Comparison ...
Did anyone think the Oklahoma series would possibly separate us from each other for a top 8 national seed when it happened? WOW.

No, I do not think South Alabama will have the RPI to host. Besides, there are plenty of hosts in that part of the country. I look for Minnesota (Won the Big 10 tournament over Michigan and has a Top 16 RPI) to host in the north ... and possibly Michigan (Tied Nebraska for the Big 10 regular season title).

I thought UL had the #1 OOC RPI in the country that year?
Are you telling me that if a Team USA (type team) had played UL's schedule in 2012 they would have been a 12 seed?

#1 NC RPI, yes. But #12 RPI overall.
Team USA would have had fewer losses. :)

Re: Top 8 National Seed Comparison ...
Looks like McNeese will need that at large bid. Kaylee Guidry (NWST) is no hitting the Cowgirls in the bottom of the 4th inning, it's 8-0.
Re: Top 8 National Seed Comparison ...
1. Louisiana (#9 national seed)
2. LSU
3. NW St
4. Texas Southern
Paired with #8 Oklahoma
