Softball: Louisiana Comes Up Short in Close Call at LA Tech

The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Softball team was edged out by Louisiana Tech in a pitcher's duel at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field in Ruston on Tuesday, April 8, the host-Bulldogs holding on for a 2-1 win in the final game of the two teams' midweek season series.

What a douche comment. Was Deggs left with an empty cupboard like Habetz was? Like someone said in another thread about softball, Habetz has been asked to bake a cake this year but Glassco took all of the ingredients with him and also took the oven. It's hard to rebuild swings while the season is going on. I was at the NFCA coaching convention in December of 2024 and Bryce Neal (LSU hitting coach) was a speaker. Instead of trying to rebuild a player's swing to fit into a specific mold, he focuses on what they do well and tries to improve on that while also trying to strengthen their weaknesses. But his main topic was weekly game prep where they focus on the strength of the opposing pitchers they expect to face and game plan to hit that pitcher. For example, if an opposing pitcher has an excellent drop ball, they set their pitching machines to throw drop balls and practice all week to be successful against that. I wonder if the Cajuns have that type of game prep on a weekly basis. The obvious answer is no since so the Cajuns currently on have 3 hitters batting over .300 and only one over .400.
Re: SB Final: Louisiana 1, Tech 2
I’ve wondered if our pitching machine was the type that could mimic the pitching our next opponents could throw but change speeds and type pitch. Or if it can only pitch one speed/type one after another.

I wonder if those machines are now in Lubbock.

Someone had mentioned that we have one of the best young up and coming hitting coaches in the country.

I’m scratching my head trying to figure out how the heck this team managed to beat Ole Miss and Alabama. If anything, it seems like they have regressed from the beginning of the season.
