Re: Cajun Field Game Day Experience thoughts
This is why it's important that the new Heymann Center is built across from Cajun Field. It gives an incentive to build a possible shopping center with restaurants, bars, and retail next to it. How convenient would it be to have fans just walk across the street as a hangout spot before and after the games? And here's the catch: it can be used beyond the 5-6 times a year we have a home game. Easy revenue and a new entertainment district.

The big brick building would be the press box and then have boardwalk and shops around it.
Make the bottom of the press box all shops and restuarants and build around it. Really could put it between the football and baseball fields so you literally would have to walk through it.

This would be amazing, something that could and should be done.

Re: Cajun Field Game Day Experience thoughts
Today, I’d say an entertainment district. 25-30 years from now, nah. Outside of student housing, mostly aging housing stock to the east and west. Housing north along Cameron already in that stage.
That is why UL should use the property for UL purposes only. Create your own buffer.

I feel like the idea I have iwouldn’t be that bad. All you are doing is at the bottom of the rebuilt press box side is leasing space out, and have shops, and balconies. On the other side have 2 story buildings with balcony with eating establishments, bars whatever. I believe the picture I posted is doable and can be done with UL’s budget .

It would be fantastic, except I would put it where it was originally planned on the north side facing Congress where the new PAT will be. Create a lively entertainment district with housing geared towards young professionals/students. Make it the place to be and be seen and your attendance problems will vanish.
Or UL can continue to think small, be small.

I agree it could be fantastic!! It would really shine. There is so much you can do.
If you did put the new Heyman across the street just build a walking bridge across Congress leading to the parking lot and to shops.
That way you have a walking bridge that could be used for the games as well.
Done and these establishments would be rocking on game day !

And add a giant bar to end zone.
