Re: So if we win we are in?
With approx. 13 teams that are 6-6 right now and Louisville, Arizona St., and UL or MT can also get to 6-6, then I would say there is a good chance that there will only be 6-6 teams left, but I haven't looked at all the tie in scenerios.
I do know this:
SEC has 8 non-BCS bowl tie ins.
SEC has 8 Bowl Eligible teams, two of which who are going to go to BCS bowl games. That leaves 6 to fill the 8 slots, which opens up the Indy Bowl and the Papajohns Bowl in which SEC had tie ins. So the Indy Bowl and Papajohns bowl is obligated to take a 6-6 sunbelt team unless there is a 7-5 team out there, but I just don't see it with all the 6-6 teams floating around.
Anyway, its fun to talk about this, and I will feel real bad if we lose wed, and MT or FAU gets an invite, and we stay home.

Louisville can get bowl eligible w/ a win over Rutgers Thurs.
Arizona can get bowl eligible w/ a win over Arizona Sat.
Louisiana or MT can get bowl eligible Wed with a win.
Can someone please answer this:
If there are only 6-6 teams left to fill one of the SBC agreements with the Indy or papajohns bowl, does the bowl have to take a 6-6 SBC team over an at large 6-6 team? YES or NO?
I do agree that they do have to take a 7-5 team, but it looks as if there will be only 6-6 teams left if you do the math for at larges. _
I count 57 teams already with 7 wins, with 3 more possible sitting at 6-5. That would be a maximum of 60 teams with 7 or more wins. That would leave AT LEAST 8 slots open for the 6-6 teams. Depending on how things line up, we should have a good shot at a bowl IF WE WIN on Wed. night.

Currently there are 12 teams at 6-6 (including the winner of the UL-MT game). There are also 2 other teams that still could get to 6-6. If you add in the 3 teams already with 6 wins who could get to 7 wins, you could be looking at a total of 17 teams at 6-6. If all of these possible teams get to bowl eligibility, there would be 74 teams for 68 slots. So a maximum of 6 teams could be left out. I expect a couple may not make it, so probably 4 or 5 bowl-eligible teams won't get in. Of the 3 teams who could get to 7 wins, I'm most concerned with conference mate Ark. State, with Rutgers a bit behind them. I think at 7-5 either of them would likely go to the I-Bowl ahead of us. Should we win, it'll get interesting.

But if Rutger loses, that makes Louisville bowl eligible.
Methinks the SBC will get screwed somehow, like the St. Pete Bowl getting FAU and MT/UL/stAte staying home.

Unfortunately, past experience says you're probably right. We always seem to come out on the losing end in these situations. Of course, we just have ourselves to blame for this. All we had to do was win 2 out of our last 4 and we wouldn't be worrying about this.

Yes, but if FAU goes over UL or MT, what does that say about the importance of selling tickets and having a fanbase?
If ya'll beat us, ya'll deserve to go just as much as Vanderbilt.
Let some of those BCS teams come into your house and see what happens. What happened when Maryland came to MT ?
What if Illinois had travelled to Lafayette?
I call BS on the BCS, a monopoly at its finest. And now ESPN seems to be pulling the strings. That reeks of illegal (or at least shady) dealings in my book.
No one to stand up for the "little man", I guess.
Where the hell is Zeebart this week, by the way. Is he OK?

VILLAGER #1:
We have found a witch. May we burn her?
CROWD:
Burn her! Burn! Burn her! Burn her!
BEDEVERE:
How do you know she is a witch?
VILLAGER #2:
She looks like one.
CROWD:
Right! Yeah! Yeah!
BEDEVERE:
Bring her forward.
WITCH:
I'm not a witch. I'm not a witch.
BEDEVERE:
Uh, but you are dressed as one.
WITCH:
They dressed me up like this.
CROWD:
Augh, we didn't! We didn't...
WITCH:
And this isn't my nose. It's a false one.
BEDEVERE:
Well?
VILLAGER #1:
Well, we did do the nose.
BEDEVERE:
The nose?
VILLAGER #1:
And the hat, but she is a witch!
VILLAGER #2:
Yeah!
CROWD:
We burn her! Right! Yeaaah! Yeaah!
BEDEVERE:
Did you dress her up like this?
VILLAGER #1:
No!
VILLAGER #2 and 3:
No. No.
VILLAGER #2:
No.
VILLAGER #1:
No.
VILLAGERS #2 and #3:
No.
VILLAGER #1:
Yes.
VILLAGER #2:
Yes.
VILLAGER #1:
Yes. Yeah, a bit.
VILLAGER #3:
A bit.
VILLAGERS #1 and #2:
A bit.
VILLAGER #3:
A bit.
VILLAGER #1:
She has got a wart.
RANDOM:
[cough]
BEDEVERE:
What makes you think she is a witch?
VILLAGER #3:
Well, she turned me into a newt.
BEDEVERE:
A newt?
VILLAGER #3:
I got better.
VILLAGER #2:
Burn her anyway!
VILLAGER #1:
Burn!
CROWD:
Burn her! Burn! Burn her!...
BEDEVERE:
Quiet! Quiet! Quiet! Quiet! There are ways of telling whether she is a witch.
VILLAGER #1:
Are there?
VILLAGER #2:
Ah?
VILLAGER #1:
What are they?
CROWD:
Tell us! Tell us!...
BEDEVERE:
Tell me. What do you do with witches?
VILLAGER #2:
Burn!
VILLAGER #1:
Burn!
CROWD:
Burn! Burn them up! Burn!...
BEDEVERE:
And what do you burn apart from witches?
VILLAGER #1:
More witches!
VILLAGER #3:
Shh!
VILLAGER #2:
Wood!
BEDEVERE:
So, why do witches burn?
[pause]
VILLAGER #3:
B--... 'cause they're made of... wood?
BEDEVERE:
Good! Heh heh.
CROWD:
Oh, yeah. Oh.
BEDEVERE:
So, how do we tell whether she is made of wood?
VILLAGER #1:
Build a bridge out of her.
BEDEVERE:
Ah, but can you not also make bridges out of stone?
VILLAGER #1:
Oh, yeah.
RANDOM:
Oh, yeah. True. Uhh...
BEDEVERE:
Does wood sink in water?
VILLAGER #1:
No. No.
VILLAGER #2:
No, it floats! It floats!
VILLAGER #1:
Throw her into the pond!
CROWD:
The pond! Throw her into the pond!
BEDEVERE:
What also floats in water?
VILLAGER #1:
Bread!
VILLAGER #2:
Apples!
VILLAGER #3:
Uh, very small rocks!
VILLAGER #1:
Cider!
VILLAGER #2:
Uh, gra-- gravy!
VILLAGER #1:
Cherries!
VILLAGER #2:
Mud!
VILLAGER #3:
Uh, churches! Churches!
VILLAGER #2:
Lead! Lead!
ARTHUR:
A duck!
CROWD:
Oooh.
BEDEVERE:
Exactly. So, logically...
VILLAGER #1:
If... she... weighs... the same as a duck,... she's made of wood.
BEDEVERE:
And therefore?
VILLAGER #2:
A witch!
VILLAGER #1:
A witch!
CROWD:
A witch! A witch!...
VILLAGER #4:
Here is a duck. Use this duck.
[quack quack quack]
BEDEVERE:
Very good. We shall use my largest scales.
CROWD:
Ohh! Ohh! Burn the witch! Burn the witch! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Ahh! Ahh...
BEDEVERE:
Right. Remove the supports!
[whop]
[clunk]
[creak]
CROWD:
A witch! A witch! A witch!
WITCH:
It's a fair cop.
VILLAGER #3:
Burn her!
CROWD:
Burn her! Burn her! Burn her! Burn! Burn!...
BEDEVERE:
Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science?
ARTHUR:
I am Arthur, King of the Britons.

Us getting screwed at k-state and questionable play calling against illinois is coming back to bite us in the @$$. That's why "we played a hell of a game but came up short" doesn't cut it. The illinois game was before any injuries so there is no excuse. We may have had no chance at k-state because of the officiating but too many took it as "we weren't supposed to win that game anyway". Win one of those games and we are 6-5 going in to mtsu even with a 3 game skid.
