Re: What if the I Bowl called us a few weeks ago...
Since there is no tiebreaker, ASU would be considered the champion placed. If there were tiebreakers we would be considered the outright champion right now since we hold head to head on ASU but we aren't, we locked in as cochamps

We would be Co-champs by the rules of the league as far as determining champions, BUT, they do a tiebreaker to determine which team HAS to be slotted in a bowl. Because of this, they can't take stAte before they take us.

Wrong, conference rules state that both co=champions must be placed.

Also remember, by the time we "accepted" the bowl bid, we were already conference champions and 100% guaranteed a slot in a bowl game. This is NOT like the La Tech situation specifically because of that fact.
I am well aware of the fact the champs are guaranteed a spot. In fact co champs...and a three way tie are all guaranteed a spot. Read the Belt's policy on it.
What I was referring to is earlier people said NOLA first option NO MATTER WHO OR WHAT! Incredibly rare scenarios happen every week...just ask Bama and Miss St.
Re: What if the I Bowl called us a few weeks ago...
Jay said both get placed...I like the term offered better because half the people here wanted to tell Nola to wait because they think we have to have a spot waiting on us as champs, which isn't true, just have to get offered

I repeat, we would not possibly get left out as long as there is a rule requiring the conference champion to be slotted somewhere. What it would have done is put a halt on Godaddy and New Orleans sending invites. New Orleans may have balked at us and invited another conference team, which would have been their loss, but as the #2 selecting bowl, Godaddy by conference rule would not be able to slot someone until we have selected a bowl game for ourselves be it Indy, New Orleans, or Godaddy.
90% + of the invites are contractually tie ins. So we are talking about a bunch of what if at this point. Better yet y'all. Probably let a troll get to you.

Bowl committees have the right to adjust the payout and ticket allotment originally proffered, if delays in accepting the invite adversely affect the bowl. If you wait too long for them to put together their collateral/advertising, they could make arguments for reducing the deals. There are more to these negotiations than this forum is aware of.
This entire "discussion" involves some substantially clueless people making unfounded accusations on very thin information... but that hasn't stopped us before... so let's continue on...
