When you have more opportunities, your chance of success rises.
If independent is so great, there were 19 independent programs in 1983. Today 4, including the constant, Notre Dame. That leaves Army, UMass and UConn.

Proving what I have always said going Independent is the best path to getting noticed and an invite to the confernce of your choice. Not the perfect path, the best path.
Now, with the Super Conferences aiming towards 9 conference games a year, it is simply not feasable.
Re: LGT Final: Louisiana 24, Troy 31
Our boys balled out tonight. That was a solid team we just played. That type of performance needs to be more consistent. Gotta beat ULM.
Re: LGT Final: Louisiana 24, Troy 31
When was the last time Louisiana hit 12 different recievers?
Re: LGT Final: Louisiana 24, Troy 31
I know two are out, but this year Louisiana has had the best trio of quarterbacks they have ever had.
Re: LGT Final: Louisiana 24, Troy 31
I like Dez, but at the end of this season, especially if we lose next weekend to ULM, there needs to be a conversation had with him.
A coaching search was not done because we thought he was the best way to maintain the culture. Well that hasn’t happened.
So what else does he have to offer? He won’t be fired after this season, be if we’re serious about athletics at UL, especially football, someone needs to start keeping a book of names as candidates for next winter.

Any AD worth his salt has a top candidate list for all sports.

Des will succeed after four years of learning on the job.
Perhaps 3.

And, if we beat ULM, finish 6-6, go to bowl and win? Then what?

Hey it’s the USL way. Just look at WSOC, VB, or WBB. How many NCAA appearances between the 3?

Bowls don’t matter. If he wins at ULM and a bowl, it changes nothing.
