Exactly, you need a productive out right there. To tell you the truth, I wouldn't have minded seeing Butler bunt right there. At least you know for a fact he gets the run in and you move the runner over to 3rd for Compton with less than 2 away. Then there's also the possibility of Butler being safe at first and/or Conrad scoring on the bunt like we do sometimes. I just don't see how you allow Butler to swing away in that situation with the way his game was going all night.
Re: Louisiana vs New Orleans
Yeah, I guess Butler just may not be trusted as much as other guys with getting the bunt down. I would liked my chances with the bunt and hoping Compton hits a fly ball.
Re: Louisiana vs New Orleans
We pitched by committee a week ago and threw a 3 hitter and beat Tulane 16-0. Pitchers didn't have it tonight. Bad hitting night and we still scored 7 runs. We got beat, move on and try to go 4-1 this week.

Not sure why we had no errors. Butler dropped two balls. I think they accounted for at least 5 runs.
Re: Louisiana vs New Orleans
So I've been asking this question to myself for weeks. But it's time to put it out there…
Why is Jace not hitting cleanup? I mean, I've seen him hit cleanup a few times this season and he seems to struggle, I know the pitches he will see are supposed to be better in the 6hole, but by now, you know teams have a scouting report on the guy and they know he smashes, I think it's time to put him in the 4hole and stick with it.
I'll qualify my statements by saying, "I'm not the coach". So there, you don't have to remind me. ;) Just an observation, the guy is so unbelievably clutch.
Re: Louisiana vs New Orleans
After reading all of the posts about Robe's "poor" coaching decisions, I would expect all of you to be at Scott Farmer's office in the morning asking for Robe's job.
As I said during football season: Winning brings higher and higher expectations. Losing is like your favorite dog dying...
In Robe I Trust...
Re: Louisiana vs New Orleans
My biggest concern is that this loss against the worst team on oir schedule with a what 200+ RPI? Does this stick a fork in our chances at a top-8 national seed?

----man I totally agree----I don't know if he misjudged, misplayed, or tipped it with his glove ---but they certainly were very catchable balls---both would have seemed to have been nice plays as they were a pretty far piece away and he was running hard---On a run like that your body can bounce as you run (hated that and was told to run on your toes) but it is a crazy sight that all outfielders have seen!!! But as you mentioned clearly one of the big differences of the game as in chasing down the ball many extra basses were had by UNO!!!
