Non-stop full throttle bonerific offense.

Reminds me of when I was coming back from scouting a game and was on the same plane with Toby Warren who was going to Lafayette to start his new AD job ---it was a huge secret and he kinda hid from me---he later told me the story once I was rehired!!!! Not long after his arrival he fired Russ and hired Augie!!!!

No _____e!!! I think I have related this incident before but it is worth repeating. I remember just a year or so ago someone asking Bustle at the QB club if the problems related to recruiting was the need for more money for recruiting. Bustle replied "no, we have enough money." That was another indication to me that Bustle would never be successful. I don't care who you are or what school you coach at; it could be Les Miles at LSU, the answer to that question is always "Yes, we need more money for recruiting."

Before that season started (I know you know) Russ said they were changing the offense and the team would struggle.
I doubt he exptected to go winless, but it is an example of how drastic changes can set you back.

And no, we can't be under center because even in the shotgun the QB has less than 2 seconds to get rid of the ball before he's on his back. UL cannot (and will not, and should not) run a pro style offense.
I too am a bit concerned about running the same scheme, because this means we must upgrade our talent. We haven't been a solid recruiting school compared to our peers in a while (ever?).
Our success will depend 80% on our increased recruiting ability with a new coaching staff if Hudspeth is hired.
It's one of the reasons why I'm open to Sewak. All of a sudden the recruiting game is changed. _
One of the main characteristics of Hudspeth's past offense's is that he ran multiple sets. He tended to run more out of the shotgun but mentioned himself that he liked running the ball out of the I-Formation at times and with split backs. I like doing this from center, especially to open up the pass game because all of our QB's are mobile and we can utilize the playaction and rollout bootleg plays to open things up once the running game is getting going. I look forward to variable sets and formations and feel that we didn't incorporate enough of this in previous years.

We've also had success in recent years running this same spread scheme. This year we resorted more to a pass spread attack and it worked. The OL was not healthy enough to gel and protect the QB or open up enough holes for the backs. We do not have to reinvent the wheel here for this offense to be successful. No more so and probably less than having to completely change your offense if Sewak were to be hired. To me, that would be a mistake when this team is ready to win now.
Re: What should i expect from Hudspeth?
So can JP, J-Bird, or Cajun T put a percentage on this hire? Do you guys think it’s a done deal (95%) a good possibility (75%) or a lot to do about nothing (50/50)? Because I’m really getting used to the idea of Coach Hudspeth at UL!!!

Nothing of Acadian's going anywhere near Starkville or Atlanta this week or last. They have two planes painted in purple and puke, one normal paint and a couple in the green and white Acadian paint jobs.
