The pitchers have pitched to a 3.71 era this season. And without DMo's implosion at Texas, it would be 3.30. That's more than good enough.

The pitchers have no blame to how this season has begun. We've already lost games where the pitchers held the opponent to 3 and 4 runs, and twice lost when we allowed 5. Scoring 5 runs a game in college baseball isn't too much to ask.

BTW, a 3.71 era would have been 34th in the country last season, just ahead of Vanderbilt.
A 3.30 era would have been 11th in the country last season, just ahead of the 2017 Ragin Cajuns, who ended the year at 3.31

Not arguing that but do you think gunner loses Friday? You add those 3 arms and Perrin and batty are now throwing midweek with Schmidt. Marks is most likely coming out that Saturday against Texas not dmo...you push all the arms back. Add all those innings from those 3 arms coming back. Their mentality and presence cant be put into an ERA or batting averages. How many guys on this team have been through anything in D1 baseball?

I'm just saying that, even WITH all of those guys last year, our pitching was similar to what its been so far this season. So to your point that we'd be 5-2...I cant say that I agree.

I don’t think we blow the Saturday at Texas, gunner isn’t getting beat by Wright State on Friday night in the home opener and we are throwing a whole different set of arms on Saturday and Sunday with gunner marks and guillory.

If our best options are guys that have never played D1 baseball Thats lack of recruting and rest on the shoulders on every coach in that dugout

I'm not hitting the panic button just yet.

We should have won 2 of 3 in Austin. We should have won 2 of 3 this past weekend. If you replay these games in alternate universes 10 times, the majority of those times we would be 4-3 right now.

The SOS is such that a 35 win season probably puts us in at-large consideration.

If after 2 more weeks were still upside down on the season, I'll flip out then.

I do believe that given the pitching focus of the head coach, we will always be playing catch up with hitting more years than not. Nature of the beast.

This isn’t football man, there are only so many scholarships and roster spots...we lost 6 pitchers though draft, graduation and injury...how exactly do you suggest you replace that with guys with D1 experience?
