Our slow starts have easily cost this team seeding in regionals several times. And yet...it's just ho hum. "Robe is ____ed and will fix it." "Robe knows what needs to be done." "Robe needs to fire Talbert." "We are young and the upper class men aren't playing like it." These are panacea for absolutely nothing, except enabling Tony to just schlep his way out of the gate...like this team always does. It's nothing new, and it's a direct reflection of a head coach content with the status quo of recruiting a higher level of talent than our peers, and systematically allowing them to flounder under the guise of the old baseball mantra, "can't win em all."
Can you document times where Robe cost us seeding. Most of the time we are either a 2or 3 seed. Last I checked those seeds play each other so it does not matter much which one you are. At that level everyone has an ace who will be tough to beat.

You can hold the staff responsible for not having enough experienced talent ready to go where they would not have to be so dependent on youth. Nothing can be done in that regard now. You just have to focus on the actually trying to improve now so as you are playing good ball come sometime in April. It may be too late by then but their is always the conference tournament. Have to insure you get in that first and if struggles at plate continue there is no guarantee they qualify.
All teams qualify. Single elimination first round for the lower seeds, if I recall.

I think where he lacks is teaching approach and motivation. But ultimately Robe is in charge and the buck stops with him. He has never run from that either. He will never throw his coaches under the bus. If the veterans on this team would be carrying the weight on the offensive side, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. But we are relying on young kids with no “major college baseball” experience to carry us.
If he isn't content, then why hasn't a damn thing changed? If he isn't riding the clock to retirment, then why hasn't a damn thing changed? You can use all the jargon to cover up the fact that the team is not prepared to start the season...AGAIN.

Are you advocating a coaching change? If so, you are a very small minority. Not defending what is happening on the field. I agree with Metry. I think issue is lack of talent (and injuries).

The jump from HS to college is huge. Robe has done a great job projecting players to this level of play. Looks like he and his staff missed on a few of these hitters. There are several seniors on this team that just have not made the jump. The good news is the young guys will get their chance. If you can hit .250, you will be an everyday player.

Not at all. I just want him 100%. We aren't getting 100%. Saying it's talent, or youth, or injuries...is a cop out.

Talent question is not a cop out. You can't teach someone to hit that curve ball. That ability is god given to some degree. You can hold them accountable for recruiting as that is part of the job as well. Nothing can be done about that now.

2015. 2016. 2017 it kept us out of it all together.

It is when our recruiting classes are nationally ranked.

Just hope we don't have an Augie Garrido situation were a legendary coach in his last years tanked the program because the game had passed him
