This has turned into a them vs us game. Don't let the Hattiesburg crowd outperform the Cajuns in NOLA, that just would not be right.

This is the best matchup the NOB could have hoped for and realistically the one they wanted when this bowl was started. If this would have been the matchup in 2011, there would have been 60K in attendance.
You mention USM hasnt played in a bowl game since 2011 however they were in the HOF Bowl in Dallas last year against University of Washington.
