Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. South Alabama
Excellent points, Boomer. Depends on the sport and the athlete.

Who the hell thinks he was lifting weights right before the game?????
Jesus this is so stupid. Zeon’s occasional struggles with accuracy have nothing to do with weightlifting.

Try not to trip over that line in the sand. ;)

ps Regular weightlifting is not the issue.

The Mailman is only in the Hall of Fame for basketball. Of course he was an inside player. I doubt Steph Curry lifts weights on game day.
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. South Alabama
Nobody lifts weights on game day. In any sport. Unless you’re Steve Lattimer on the program.

In my experience / opinion, lifting weights only negatively affects you if you are "maxing out" / hard workout. Working out with a reasonable weight and reasonable amount of reps will not overwork any muscle group. Especially if someone is used to working out daily.
With that said, I have never worked out before a sporting event. That thought never entered my mind. But I could see where someone could workout without issue.

Anderson

Guidry
Agu
Ossai & Flowers during the game. Reduced our depth.
That’s crazy. I thought I saw #7 and #8 back on defense later in the game. You’re probably right.

Not sure how that relates to my post.

I didn't think I needed a reset explanation.
I have a long enough track record on this subject that you know I'm not talking about simple weight lifting.
I have always said attempts to bulk up and massivly increase, strenth were the culprit in the temporary loss of muscle memory.
Zeon did this in his off week.

You literally said “lifting weights” and put in the context of the bye week.
Explain how someone bulks up and loses muscle memory in one week of lifting. If he even did any lifting, which you don’t even know.

We are obviously talking about different types of weightlifimg.
You can lose muscle memory in one day of lifting.
