Re: Conference realignment again????
SBC picking order to get to 16 like all conferences will be come 2024:
Memphis(if not taken by Big 12 or PAC 12)
ECU (sure fit)
UAB
WKU
LA Tech (they would never refuse, last resort for SBC)

Anyway, 3 games in 21 years then you gotta go all the way back to 1938. This is a serious question that maybe you can answer since you seem to be lsu heavy. Why did the tigers stop scheduling the Cajuns once we started our decent run with hud to very good run with Napier? Seems like you’ve played every state school twice since then including southern and grambling.

I second this question. What are the mighty afraid of?

That coincides with LSU getting their Coca Cola tax boost.
Whatever makes a school attractive helps recruiting and leads to wins.

of course i have no answer, but it's always said that skeds are made years in advance--by the time you want to sked cuz Napier has a good team, isn't Napier gone?
or, and this is the one you want---cause they're scared of LOUISIANA! they're just not acclimated to playing teams of the local outfit's caliber. will that work??

I’m not naive enough to think lsu is scared of Louisiana. It was a legitimate question. Tigers have played all state schools since then. Why would the Cajuns be taken off the rotation? If you wanna be a dick about it that’s fine. I can be a bigger one I promise you. Thanks for your answer

When oppotunity knocks open the door.
LSU is not scared or worried but they most certainly are not balanced.

Re: Conference realignment again????
For comparison sake…
Since the last time the Cajuns visited tiger stadium, lsu has played or will play the following state schools:
MCNEESE ST. 2010, 2015, 2021
ULM 2010, 2014, 2021
NW state 2011, 2019
SLU 2018
La tech 2018, 2025
Southern 2022
Grambling 2023
Nichols 2024
Cajuns and green wave last played the tigers in 09

Re: Conference realignment again????
do the cajuns now have a guideline that they want a home and home in order to play? I follow, but not closely enuff to know if this is the case. I see mention of it in posts here now and then.
-
Re: Conference realignment again????
And LSU says they play state schools to help their programs succeed. Tulane and UL are the best state schools athletically. So playing LSU don’t mean much

No. I’m pretty sure we aren’t turning down a payday in tiger stadium.

Re: Conference realignment again????
I hate LSU, but they are not coming to Cajun Field to play us in football and we will never have a home and home with them in football. Anyone that thinks our football team could beat LSU is smoking some good stuff. That is just the facts jack, like it or not.

I would have loved a shot in Orgerons last season.
If the game hasn’t happened In 15 years then LSU fans can beat chest all they want. Prove it on the field and play us. Otherwise you’re like yankee fans saying they’re the best cuz 27 rings. Currently in last place.

I agree we should play each other in football and all sports. But no way our current football team can beat the current LSU football team.

Good point but the Yankees have an all time winning pct of .570 which is equivalent to 92 wins a season. Second place in AL is only .519, i.e. almost 10 games per year back (for over a century)

Re: Conference realignment again????
i'd love to see the cajuns in tiger stadium every year, like rice and a&m did when i was a kid--it would generate tons of interest. but that would never happen because the cajuns would want some return trips, and i don't blame them a bit. but lsu will never come play in that stadium, as they'd feel they were giving up too much from what they can make in br.

Wouldn't it be nice if the ncaa required the same amount of home and away games for all teams. To continue the yankees analogy, Imagine if they said we are playing 122 home games and only 40 road games

Re: Conference realignment again????
I’m pretty sure any level headed person would agree the tigers would never play at Cajun field. I haven’t seen anyone on here ask for a return trip. Just question why we aren’t playing on a regular basis

That is a fair question. Why isn't UL in the rotation. Any level headed person would also know it isnt realistic to think the Cajuns would actually beat TSAB in TSAB own stadium.

Re: Conference realignment again????
Cajuns and Tigers were scheduled to play in 2014. But then that Wisconsin game in Houston was offered, and the Tigers took the money and the game (don’t blame them one bit). Since then, there’s been no talks.

What was their cancellation fee to us, if any?

I am alone on this but I would play LSU three times for free for one return.
LSU has a lot to lose monotarily but three home games with no payout is a better deal than they get in conference where its home and home.
