Frantz Accime didn't give the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns a verbal commitment because of facilities, or because of the squad's recent football success.
It was all about the coaches.
"It was only one visit," Accime said, "but they took me under their wing, they were very humble and they cared about me. I didn't want to choose a college just because of a weight room or something like that."
Accime, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound cornerback from Boyd Anderson High in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., gave head coach Rickey Bustle and assistant Brian Jenkins a verbal pledge this week. He became the sixth member of the commitment list and the first out-of-state high school commitment.
Accime was one of South Florida's top defensive backs, making the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel's All-Broward County squad and helping lead coach Lawal McCray's team to a 7-4 record prior to an upset loss in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs.

His numbers weren't eye-popping, with over 50 tackles, two interceptions and two defensive touchdowns this season.
"I knew going in that a lot of teams weren't going to throw my way," Accime said. "I worked hard on fundamental things and being a leader because we were a really young team this year."
Accime was spotted by Jenkins at a summer camp, and visited the UL campus the first weekend of December.
Accime wasn't big enough to play high school football as a freshman or sophomore, and played Optimist ball before trying out for Anderson's team prior to his junior year.
"I came in with a chip on my shoulder," he said. "I went in the weight room and busted my behind. Whatever happened, I was going to be on that field."
Accime is currently competing with the Anderson track team.
"I want to improve my speed," he said. "Everything in college is bigger and faster, and I want to get a lot bigger by next year and work on my coverage techniques. I'm anxious to get in that uniform and be a part of a program on the rise."
