LOL. I think that was a good synopsis regarding yesterday’s event. It’s been a long time coming and a lot of work behind the scene making it happen. It needed to be celebrated in addition to letting our fanbase know “it’s really happening”.
There has been a fair amount of information “leaked” on RP to have a good idea of what will happen next WRT the east side. Typically when you make such a major change to any structure such as this (and I’m referring to the east side now), the entire portion getting renovated will have to meet ADA and other codes; so even if it wasn’t specifically stated that should imply the old lower level seating will be redone to match what is being constructed on the west. I’m eager to see what that will be/look like as well but think they “earned” a pass on that for now. This is going to be a first class stadium when completely finished IMO.
Now is our chance to get away from the shiny aluminum chair backs we currently have and go with a red/white/black mix. Or just red, but something that blends in better with the crowd on TV.
Need more money.
FIFA requires a field 68 meters wide, plus minimum 5 meters on each side. So 78 total.
At the 50 yard line, it’s 69 meters, but does down to 65 meters by the end of the goal line. So at some parts of the stadium you’d have to push back seats 13 meters. (for those who skipped science, 1 meter is 3.28 feet)
You would have to do much more to get FIFA quality matches.
