McNeese Week 2016

I will agree with Johnstonge on one point, what the rest of the schools in Louisiana, and particularly mcneese, think about UL doesn't matter to me.

Btw, if Lafayette is the butt of jokes why are they so obsessed with us? Why did the American Press columnist write an entire column detailing his lifelong _____-envy of Lafayette because he had to travel here from Lake Cuck to experience good dining, good shopping and good entertainment. If that is the case then I guess he was admitting that Lake Charles is worse than a joke.

We got radio in Lake Charles, we got TV sports coverage in LC, we got gear in the Academy over there. They can deny all they want.

Apparently you never read the business section of any newspaper-LC has received the largest industrial project in the world. Not south La or even the US but the world, it will not be a "ghost town" anytime soon.

It will be a temporary contractor city. Lots of fast food and sewage. If you think "that" upgrades McNeese, go with it.

Yeah, if we are such a joke, then why do they have such envy of all that we are? From a recent post on their site:

"ULL won their fbs bowl game . ULL participated in the NCAA basketball tournament. ULL softball is in the World Series of softball after hosting a regional and super regional. ULL baseball is ranked no1 in country and hosting a regional this weekend. Let me tell you this I hate ULL even more than lsu and I don't like lsu. What I want to know is why couldn't this type of success happen at McNeese??? Is it because we don't play in the fbs in football therefore we are not in a big enough conference to acquire enough money to succeed. I do believe that if we played ULL in conference like we used to, neither one of our stadiums is big enough to handle the amount of fans that would want to go. Is it because their are too many lsu fans in lake Charles and no matter what McNeese does lake Charles will not support it ??? Very possible because the media both print and television love them some lsu, you would think we are living in Baton Rouge because of the extensive coverage. Why the people in lake Charles are so proud of a college and team 3 hrs away instead of their own college I will never understand. ULL seems to have found success, so maybe they are a model that we should follow to see more college and city pride here. Who knows it may lead to more economic success, can you imagine lake Charles hosting a softball or baseball regional???? Why not us????"

True. But at least this poster resolves his angst into "What do we do with ourselves to be better?". He hates us. So what? He, at least, recognizes, momentarily or not, that it isn't about what McNeese should do to limit UL... it is about what they should do to better themselves. I believe they have greater hurdles to leap than they think. They should probably study the difficulties ULM is having in the FBS, than look at our recent successes and rationalize their potential, by comparison.

Regardless, I'd rather see other state schools strictly evaluate their situations, than concern themselves with what we call ourselves.
