Time to let it go and move on with your life! I've said what I needed to say. _
All I have to say is that I work in the oil field here in Lafayette and have seen many MSU engineering graduates come and go. Some were good and some couldn't hold a candle to some of the UL I-tech grads. So basically it doesn't matter what school you went to, only what you do after you get out of school.
On a lighter note, how many stars did rivals.com give you when you were recruited by MSU engineering? I'm just wondering.

2 stars. But he was an injury and 15 lbs away from being a 3 star.

Not that your program is bad, but to make such a fruitless claim is just obtuse. And for your information the UL engineering department is pretty solid. Our Petroleum Engineering student professional society just recieved an award for being the best chapter in the world. So I would stack up the education at UL against many higher profile schools. Not that that is a slight to your education, so don't take it that way. Education is not a ____ing contest, it is a challenge for excellence where everybody can win. _
No it is not obtuse. ASME ranked them in the top 10 when I was in school (on the Mechanical side). I take back the comment about UL Lafayette Engineering. I know it is a strong school. They hold a strong name when I worked for Chevron in Houston, TX and I actually have a couple of peers that I know graduated from there. They contantly choose UL Grads for off-shore assigments. You are exactly right it is a challenge for excellence and I apologize for that comment.

You and I may get to be chummy after all :)

See, within the comparison lies one large factor. Our Dean of Engineering got his MS and Ph.D from MSU. The dept's are practically related :p

Actually two of the books I studied while I was in school (STatics and Dynamics) came from a professor at UL named R.C. Hibbler I believe. I respect your school and that's why I'm a fan.

Haha and Hibbler was my favorite non-major Eng professor that I took. Guy was a trip.

Ah, the great Hibbeler. I had him for statics. Dry sense of humor coupled with a very methodical approach made for a very good class.
Plus, he was cool enough that he didn't make us buy his book (which was $120+). Great teacher and a great person (and no doubt rich from selling books!).

It seems like we all got something in common here. I don't believe any of us are bad guys! So....
