This offense is absolutely different with him in there and that's a good thing. Blitz protection is something that can be adjusted at halftime though.
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Minnesota
Again, Minnesota’s QB:
12/14, 146 Yards, 2 TD and a meaningless INT.
You let the opponent’s QB complete over 85% of his passes with a yard per attempt of over 10, you’ve probably got about a 0.824% chance of winning that game.
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Minnesota
I watched the game again on tv. I was watching sort of on my phone live. Anyway. We needed to blitz more on 1st downs. Minnesota was ahead of the chains all day.
And… how did we not recover the onside kick??

Because they were able to get after Zeon in the second half and put him under pressure, both times helping create interceptions.

How do you know we didn’t adjust? Sometimes they just out athlete you. Sometimes it’s the jimmy and the joes not the X’s and O’s.

Nice (often used) Baldwin quote there. :)
The thing for me is the team with the lead could make a huge mistake by adjusting.
The team behind has nothing to lose by adjusting.
Adjusting (when what you are doing is working) can lead to out-thinking yourself.

. . . all this adjusting . . .
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Minnesota
A football team is not a carburetor.

The hope is your staff has a counter for the other team's adjustments. That does not seem to be the case.
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Minnesota
Look, all we needed to do is make some adjustments.
Adjustments get'r done. If we would have adjusted to the barometric pressure, moon phase and the ley line running under the stadium, we had em.
If we adjust the position of cold beers in the ice bins, they'll probably become colder beer.
Adjust wisely and you shall receive a colder Budweiser.

. . . a colder Budweiser is always a better Budweiser . . .

We needed to adjust the size of our lineman. Maybe a buffet on the sidelines?
Just turn this knob, slide this lever and voila a win.

The one thing that is absolutely unforgivable is procedure penalties. False starts, offsides and formation penalties. You can’t have the mental lapses in close games. That turned into change of possessions.
Texas St is a much better matchup for us. Not sure we pull it out, but the style of play fits us better.
I believe that their quarterback has elements of Brady & Manning in moving around in the pocket. He’s also similar to a smaller version of Cam Newton. Not as accurate those three, but plenty accurate enough to be a force.
They are prone to self inflicted wounds, so are we. The team that limits their mistakes probably wins a high scoring game. UL doesn’t lose it’s perfect record vs TxSt in 2023.
Re: Live Game Talk: Louisiana vs. Minnesota
I need to watch a TX State game. I switched to them @ Southern Miss after they had already neutered them.
I have the sports section from when we blasted them last year.
I'll have it on here in a couple hr.
