Gotta agree with Jay on this one. I take my shots at the game day experience. I think they are deserved, but Maggard’s work to bring the students back in to the fold a couple off seasons ago has paid dividends. Now if we can just do that with the general populace…

Passing game will grow. The rep of ignoring the TE in the passing game is gone now. The WRs will get theirs in time. This has the possibility of being a dynamic passing attack if all the parts come together.

Chandler Fields IS the guy. There’s just a different energy in the offense when he is at the helm. He’s the guy.

Wooldridge is talented and would be a good QB. But it’s just different and not in a good way. IMO

If LL2 was the guy he’d be playing. Ultra talented athlete. But he’s like the SLU QB. More accurately put, like Quad Brown from GaSt two years ago. He would absolutely wow us with some plays and make you want slam your head into the rail on others.

One thing with Fields, when he pulls the trigger, that ball is out immediately.

While he’s obviously a better pure passer than Levi was, I’ve had concerns his ability to escape sacks. LL was great with that.

However, as quickly as that ball comes out, maybe he won’t have to escape as many.

Again, first game with a new staff and pretty much new offensive pieces with the exception of RB1 and receivers. We’ll see more from Fields and the OL in coming weeks, and how the coaching staff adjusts to their strengths and weaknesses.

its chandler and i dont think it is all that close. Ben could start at another program tho

If our OL struggles, we're better off with a dual threat QB and that's not CF.

How was he as dynamic as Brodway? He missed on some deep balls and didn't run it particularly well.

If one of these guys was that much better than the other we wouldn’t be seeing 2 QBs. I’m not sure either are the long term answer.

If we can establish a legit run game I think Fields gmhas the tools to win. But at our level you sometimes live or die by the QB play. I’ve said for a while now LL was taken for granted by many people.

QB2 got playing time because Des is doing all he can to keep both of them. Rest assured, as the birdie said a long time ago, Chandler Fields is the starting QB. That was rather smart on Des’ part, sad that you guys did not see it.

How did LSU’s all world dual threat QB do for them? SLU’s dual threat QB?

Levi’s escapability was an asset, but he was a QB. I would t call him a dual threat QB. He accounted for just under 3300 yards of offense. 2900 passing yards and 340 rushing. He will be the most successful QB in Cajuns history.

A dual threat QB will win you games that you are supposed to win. But they will never win you a game you’re not supposed to win.
