Re: In-Game Thread: Louisiana vs. A-State
Glad the Cajuns survived, but on the Cajuns last offensive possession Hud demonstrated pathetic clock management! What are we doing dropping back to pass on 1st and 2nd down when we should be running clock or making ASU use their time outs??? Fortunately, Jennings was sacked on 1st down causing ASU to use a time out. But on 2nd down we throw an incompletion to stop the clock for them. Those extra seconds on the clock almost cost the Cajuns the game and a possible bowl bid!!!!

McGuire had minimal rushing yards going up the middle all day. Why not run him for utaide and utilize his speed? It worked against Georgia then we abandon it here.

They need to throw to Eli more, no body can
single cover him, and he can catch,

Eli looked amazing in the slot position. He's a matchup nightmare as a receiver

That was a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. We got nothing done on the ground the entire game. He could have just ran the ball 3 times for 3 stops with a timeout called by stAte each time. But then there would've been people on here criticizing him for just "playing not to lose." He went aggressive to try to put the game away, knowing that our defense struggles late. Unfortunately it didn't work.
Still a great win against the #1 team in the conference. I'll take it!

He really might be our best receiver. So many times this year he seems to make plays at receiver on the sidelines that he shouldn't. It seems like he's all covered up by a corner and he somehow always wins the battle and comes down with the ball. It's amazing
Re: In-Game Thread: Louisiana vs. A-State
Let us not forget the real hero of the game...the receiver for stAte who dropped the 2 point conversion. if they converted that, then we probably would have been in overtime with no momentum.

Ark. State had a few mistakes today. The missed FG and not catching the ball which Peters knocked out which was returned for a TD were two others. Those kind of things were common for the Cajuns earlier in the year. I am still perplexed by this OL. After two good games in Georgia, they struggle once again today.
Re: In-Game Thread: Louisiana vs. A-State
Congrats guys. We morphed back into the squad that lost to UCA today and made too many crucial errors, compounded by Hudspeth coaching circles around Anderson again. Full props to Jennings though for giving our defense fits all night.
I really hope we didn't doom ourselves to the disaster that is the Cure Bowl with this performance.
