I’m curious what everyone’s speculation is on the timing of this move. Not particularly critiques or support for the move but the why of doing it now. To be honest, I am still in shock. UL making midseason moves just does not happen.
My best guess (barring something having occurred that we don’t know about): Maggard finally decided to make the move after the blowout to Lamar, the press conference, and family members arguing with fans on social media (just an embarrassing debacle all around). Then it took time to get the move approved by T-Joe and the funding sured up from whoever is footing the bill.
I’ve seen us take some light criticism on social media for the timing of the fire. Right before Christmas and immediately after a win. I have no issues with it myself. Just interested in how it transpired.

My best guess is he gave him the ultimatum of retire at end of year or we let you go now. Money talks and he rather get fired to get paid out.

I just called the ticket office.
For all to know: they are not offering pro-rated season ticket packages for remainder of the season. I think they're missing opportunity here to get some extra revenue for conference season.

Just get the flex pack; 6 games for $120.
