UL baseball coach Tony Robichaux says his team needs to get "weathered."
The weather forecast for San Antonio isn't that bad today through Sunday, but Robichaux's version of "weathering" has to do more with his Ragin' Cajuns going on the road than it does with the climate.
They'll get that road opportunity beginning at 5 p.m. today when the UL squad meets Texas-San Antonio (0-1) in the first of a three-game series. UL meets the Roadrunners at 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday in the other contests at Roadrunner Field.
"Being on the road helps this time of year," Robichaux said. "The bottom line is to get weathered, to get ready to face that. The conference tournament's not on our home field, you've got to pretty much go on the road for the NCAA's and the College World Series definitely isn't played in Lafayette."

The Cajuns (1-0), coming off a 15-7 win over Nicholls State Tuesday in its home opener, play four straight on the road before coming back home for a three-game series with Illinois next weekend. And Robichaux's looking forward to it.
"It's good for your team to do this," he said. "It gets you ready for the things you're going to face the rest of the year."
His UTSA weekend opponent is 0-1 after a 4-3 Tuesday loss at Rice, and will open its home season this weekend and play its first-ever home night game tonight with newly-installed lights at Roadrunner Field.
The Cajuns will try to keep early-season hot bats going, with four extra-base hits coming in a 14-hit attack against NSU Tuesday. Five different players had multiple hits and seven had RBIs in the win, and UL got seven hits from the bottom two slots in the lineup - four from nine-hole hitter Devon Bourque, and three, including a triple and a homer ,from freshman Justin Robichaux in the eight hole.
"When we can do that, it causes pitchers and defenses to panic a little," Bourque said. "When we can turn the lineup over, it lets our speed guys at the top really put the pressure on."
UL is scheduled to throw sophomore lefthander Greg Wilborn tonight and newcomer junior lefthander Brent Solich Saturday, with Sunday's pitcher to be announced. All three will be making their first outing of the season. UTSA counters with three righthanders, senior Blake Brannon tonight, junior Bradley Chovanec Saturday and Josh Ruffin (0-1 with the loss to Rice) Sunday.
