Where is ragincajunette?
North Texas runner on third scored. We are tied again, 3-3.
Ok, we have eight hits compared to thier two, but we also have one error, they don't have any. We're now at the top of the seventh.
Karli errored at short stop, allowing N.Texas to score, they now lead us 4-3. Runner on second, cross your fingers we get an out!
errors are always killers
Now 6-3. Runners on second and first.
We're finally out of this misarable inning. We've got to score at least three to stay alive. I don't know what just happened, errors, freshman nerves, heat...no excuses we're 24th in the country, we can't lose to North Texas!
Tank hit a double to center. Karli at third, Tank is on second. Laci is up, they are intentionally walking her for the fourth time! Desi is up, no outs bases will be loaded. New pitcher...
They walked Desi, scoring Karli. We are now down 6-4, no outs though. Verdi is up.
We're 6-5. Runners on second and first, two outs. It's do or die!
Hamilton strikes out with two runners on. We lose! Wow! I can't believe this.
wow is right. hopefully they wake up and finish off this tournament
What's even more disappointing (other than the simple fact of losing to North Texas in general...who are they in the softball world?) is that we had ten hits compared to their six! We left entirely too many stranded on base and those two errors (compared to their none) cost us as well. Good job and all but the fact is we should have taken care of business. If we want to compete with the big dogs, we've got to get some W's. We can't just simply rely on our reputation and history to get us there. We've got to be consistant, no matter our age. But with all this being said, I'm proud of our team, I just know we are not playing to our potential. GEAUX CAJUNS!

Maybe it was the shock of the late-inning situation, since UL's softball team had rarely been pushed in seven previous Sun Belt Conference tournaments.
Or maybe it was a North Texas team that wouldn't go away, despite being 0-16 all-time against the Cajuns.
For whatever reason, it was UNT that was more consistent down the stretch Wednesday afternoon, and now a stunned UL team is in the losers' bracket of the league tournament for the first time in history.
North Texas scored in each of the last four innings, including a tie-breaking three-run frame in the top of the seventh, and held on for a 6-5 upset over the 23rd-ranked Cajuns in the opening round of the Sun Belt tournament at Middle Tennessee State in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

"We wanted to give this to the seniors," said UNT designated player Taylor Johnston, whose solo home run in the fifth inning tied the game for the second time. "Knowing that this could be the last time we faced this team, it felt good."
North Texas (22-34) scored three unearned runs with two outs in the seventh to snap a 3-3 tie. A two-run single by Susan Walters followed an error by UL shortstop Karli Hubbard that allowed the go-ahead run to score.
Desi Chatman's two-run single in the bottom of the seventh rallied the Cajuns (46-15) within 6-5. But reliever Ashley Lail recorded three outs and stranded the tying and winning runs to cap the upset win.
The loss bounces the Cajuns into today's 10 a.m. elimination game on their side of the bracket. UL will face sixth-seeded Western Kentucky, a 5-2 loser to third-seeded Troy in Wednesday's tournament opener. Troy and UNT will meet at 3 p.m. today with the winner advancing to the bracket finals.
UL had won 22 straight Sun Belt Tournament games dating back to the inaugural tournament in 2000, and the Cajuns had never allowed six runs in any tournament game. But a lot of that wasn't freshman pitcher Brittany Cuevas' fault, considering she allowed only six hits and two earned runs while striking out 10.
